Irish Green would've been perfect, but despite mine being the wettest writer ever it still doesn't play nice with my F nib :/

Than I don't even have to try. I write very fast. So my ink has to be wet and nibs I use are most broad.

Although I have 149 75th with F- nib. That one is a very good writer.

My preferred supplier (no affiliation just a very happy customer):

Appelboom

Congrats on the Heritage 1914, Pravda! Very nice picture with your recent purchases :-)

Thanks! :) Now for the next few months we discuss inks

SlimLine, black barrel and cap. I believe the nib is a fine, and is finer than I'd really prefer and calls for a light touch and an accepting attitude.

But I have a chance to ask the opinion of at least one person who collects Montblancs and who might be able to tell me how my nib fits into the continuum of wing nibs for this general type of pen. The pen seems to write a little more smoothly with every passing day. Perhaps in a week or two I'll have a totally different sense of what I've bought.

(Filled with Waterman black, which constitutes giving the nib and feed an opportunity to demonstrate good flow.)

No Pravda, I insist that you look into the the 333 version of 1914 as well as the titanium version of 1912 to complete your collection. :)

When I first set out it was for the coral 1914 and I almost snagged one but it didn't work out :/ it is one of a kind I admit, just wow.

Nah, think will take a break until September ;)

I got a SlimLine last week, as part of a bulk purchase. It's one of those pens I probably never would have bought otherwise. I.m not big on thin pens, but for skinny pen sure has a nice chunk of gold up front!

So as usually, I cleaned it, gassed it up with some good fuel. and took it to work.

This pen has been a pleasure to use. It has good flow, and for a stiff nib is still quite responsive. Performs well for fast writing and note taking.

I don't know if my pen is representing of the SlimLine series, but in my opinion, this little pen earns a snowflake of approval.

So if you like thin pens with some heft to them in modern design. the SlimLine might be for you.

Side note

I always feel self conscious about posting simple Montblancs, in a form that houses such spectacular creations of such unspeakable beauty. It's like being a trespassers in a museum, or church.

The "What's your most recent MB purchase form" has always been a kind and accepting to all with the dire need to share their enthusiasm with others. To share with a community that understands why we smile when we put pen to paper.

For this I would like to thank all,

Mark

~ That's good news about the 3-42G, OBB, @TXKat!

I've wondered how such a vintage Montblanc might write.

From what you've written, it sounds great!

That yours is an OBB is especially interesting.

I hope that it will see many seasons of satisfactory service.

You did well! That should be a marvelous pen. I just got a 254 with a wing OBB. These old MBs are superb (and often a real bargain).

Rationalizing pen and ink purchases since 1967.

I got a donor pen for my danish black MB 206, it needed another cap, the old cap was similar except it did´nt have the "montblanc" writing on the side, it also needed another nib.

I have a similar pen in coral red, they are nice, well built and strong pens.

Yet ANOTHER 146 from Poland. I love them. I am usually a broad nib girl but Mb has my number at Medium. The perfect road feel vs. smoothness, juicy juicy writing, perfect balance for my hand. Yes, I did have to have it sent to Mb for the skipping problem, but it's worth the extra investment, still a bargain. I am a fan.

I just got a Soulmakers for 100 years Starwalker 1906 ballpoint pen off ebay. It has the stamp from Hamburg and its proper numbered box. However, I compared it to a FP a local pen store had of the same series and the diamonds on the cap were oriented in different directions. Apparently, that's because they are set by hand at Montblanc.

Still, I'm wondering, it isn't worth it for counterfeiters to fake this pen, right?

I'll post pics when I have everything back, but I wanted to get a pen similar in size to my dad's 742, get my name engraved on it in the same fashion, use it for a bit, and then give both pens to my son. So I bought a 146 platinum, which is back at MB for the engraving and a nib swap (M to F).

I ended up buying it at the Heathrow Duty Free because my experiences at two different MB boutiques were so bad. I figured if I'm not going to get good service from someone that knows the product, I might as well save some money.

Platinum 149 with BB nib on the way! Though all of these OBBB writing samples are making me question my purchase. Luckily there is this nib exchange program available since I purchased from an authorized retailer. :)
