I found this Pelikan M1000 for a steal on Amazon, and I'm still ashamed by the price I paid for it.

Don't feel bad, Amazon does not have the lowest price. Cult Pens in the UK is considerably less at 380 Pounds Sterling including VAT, or 316 Pounds without VAT for those of us not in the EU.

I have my first M200 coming, marbled green with 2 nibs, fine and italic.

It's hard work to tell which is Old Harry when everybody's got boots on.

I know. I paid considerably less than that.

Was that Amazon.de for like 220? Because they canceled my order, although they were supposed to have two left

Yes, I got lucky.

Not exactly an addition: this Bird has been loaned to me by a generous friend, and will fly home pretty soon. But it's worth some exposure:

Pelikan M620 Berlin, M nib, c. 2002

This is one stunning pen! The colour reminds me of the special edition pen by Pentrace last year ...thanks for sharing.

Nice, very nice - it just comes together.

What is the green colour?

Thanks! If you mean the ink, it's Diamine Dark Green. Not the best match for Berlin - Sherwood Green would look more exciting.

Practice, patience, perseverance

My M200 marbled green came today. It's lovely and the green is rather nice. It's distinctly (if only slightly) larger than my 150s. Now, to decide which ink to use, probably Tokiwa-matsu.

It's hard work to tell which is Old Harry when everybody's got boots on.

Perhaps re Sherwood G, nevertheless nothing detracts from the colours and composition of that image.

Thanks

I just received this new, old stock M1005 Demonstrator with a Fine nib. I took a few quick photos before inking it and so no writing samples just yet. I'm not sure why Demonstrators fascinate me but I have a number of them now and enjoy each.

Retired, twice. Time to do more things, writing being one.

I've inked the pen and think I'm going to enjoy this pen very much.

Not a top of the range pen, but one which is a beautiful, really beautiful, and recently serviced by yours truly ! Marked Rool's with a Mabie Todd nib. Just inked, it writes with an excellent line, F to M, a tad wet.

Very nice.

I actually prefer demonstrators above all others, and I'm lusting after an M805 demo.

I absolutely love my M1005. I found a used one in excellent condition for a fair price with a medium nib (which I'd like to have ground smaller). I, too, love my demonstrators and I'll offer a quick tip. Consider investing in a cheap ultrasonic jewelry cleaner (I found one on Amazon for under $30). Demonstrators are tough to keep clean and the M1005 has a spot where the nib screws into the section which traps ink like nothing I've ever seen. I was stumped as to how to clean it, but a couple rounds in the ultrasonic with just water can clean it out.
