"... but I have also a red one which I could send you with the next package :)"

Wonderful, red would probably be better for the precocious writer, and a little more time to develop handwriting skills is always a good thing, thanks so much for the thoughtfulness. This is the only 'modern' Pelikano I have, the others are all older vintage so that is all I have to compare with. Here are a few photos of the aforementioned grip.

And these are photos of an older Pelikano:

Fun little 'go anywhere' pens, and easy on the pocket book.

After a fairly lengthy postal delay where the pen went "missing" for a few weeks and where it made an unplanned visit to France before flying to the US it arrived this week. I like red and so this made a perfect addition.

Retired, twice. Time to do more things, writing being one.

The Red M800  .

Congrats on a great addition, Beauport.

The red M800 has proven elusive to me. When I have money I search for it everywhere and don't find it (or, like a couple of weeks back, I seem to find it but get no answers from the vendor). Then I spend the money... and they show up  .

Maybe Pelikan will release a M800 in marbled red in 2017 (since I already blew all my 2017 pen budget  ). Of course, if that happens, who cares about pen budget! :D

I found one in Europe as well, with a NOS EF nib. My favorite addition this year.

The nib is really amazing - I've never had a new out of the box, 20 year old nib. Quite an eye-opener!

The NOS EF nib is exactly what I would like to have (but I would settle for any nib :D ). My son got a M800 Humankind for christmas with one of those 1990's nibs (M) and they are absolutely amazing. I'm afraid that this may start a whole new addiction for me: hunting M800 nibs from the 1990's (as if I needed another addiction!! ).

I actually tried to contact the store from where I believe you bought yours, if my memory serves me well (Stilofetti, in Italy, right?). But they never replied to my inquires... and I spent the money in other pens (oh, the regret!! :crybaby: ).

Stilo Fetti, yes. I've had trouble with their website as well. Maybe a phone call is the way to go? They do have a great selection of models you may not find anywhere else - but it's hit or miss!

Gee, I should have thought of calling :headsmack: . Good idea.

But now I need a bit of time to recoup from black Friday's pen shopping. It was a bit... wild!

These three. A 50s' 400 (or is it a 400N?), a vintage 140 (and a Faber Castell Osmia 661). These were bought, by a friend, for me from a vintage dealer in Karachi.

The pens are yet to arrive.

First Pelikan of 2017

Bill I think we're all missing the best part. Might want to aim that camera a bit higher so we can see those beautiful wood trays and pens. Interested in hearing about both.

Just some old cigar boxes with some used obsolete unwanted fountain pens in them ;-)

I do appreciate it though and we'll see if I can't take some better photos as the year progresses. I'm going to try dialing my purchases back a lot this year so should have time to play with the current flock more... including ink and pixels.

My newest is a black M1000 with a fine nib. I already had an M1000 green stripe with a fairly broad cursive italic nib, which I love. But I wanted a similar pen that I could use for more general purpose writing and I found one at a good price so I went for it. And I didn't want another green stripe, I wanted to be able to tell at a glance whether I was picking up the broad cursive italic or the fine pen so I wanted a different color. For the M1000 the only other color available is black.

Here's my current flock:

The pictures were originally to the same relative scale, but the hosting site that I used has adjusted them all to the same width, making it look like the pens are all the same size.

Very nice. I'm a fan of the green iconic stripes ... and will get an M1000 at some point for sure!

I put a picture of the last tray up on a different thread in answer to a question about trays if you are interested in looking
