I apologize for the poor quality of the photos but I am trying to figure what Pelikan model this is. Got it about 2 years ago as new. Where might I look for information.

This looks like an M200 Classic Black. I have the same pen.

@ Inkedinker -- We want to see how that bad boy writes!

@ Lemony Cricket -- OOOOOH shiny..... Ever since I started looking at Pelikans I wanted an M400 striated blue. Now I want one even more....

I'm just drooling....

My latest addition to my vast range of Pelikans is my very first one, a striated green M800 with medium nib. It will not come in to rotation until the new year. In good news for me, I found a better price at a local place than anywhere overseas, then on top of that they threw in a Leuchtturm1917 A5 notebook and express shipping in the price so that seemed a good start to a Pelikan venture.

Thanks all, perhaps tomorrow I will try and get a sample of my pretty poor penmanship with this pen up here. Again thanks.

Thank you Bill. Yes the 140 is an amazing nib. I will eventually smooth it out, it's a bit scratchy side to side but over all it's amazing.

The 400 is incredible. I did a minor time alignment, rinsed the barrel and nib and let it sit to dry. Dipped wrote with it then I was curious if it would hold ink. No issues. its a joy to write with. Eventually I'll polish the brass a bit and polish the cap and barrel a little to get some of the surface scratches off, but these two pens are definitely my favorite two and most used (and used looking).

And I appreciate the compliment on the writing 🙂

No....Do Not Smooth it. :gaah:

You just have to hold it canted...and it will be smooth...it is not a straight nib but Oblique.

Look to see if it is @15 degrees. Post the pen so the clip is aligned between the slit and the right hand edge of the nib....Align the nib, grasp it so...and write. It will sit on the paper at the proper canted angle.

If the grind is 30 degrees, align the clip at the right hand edge of the nib. Grasp, and write. The nib will sit on the paper correctly.

OB has just a wide enough sweet spot that you can write with it straight...it will be scratchy...in it's supposed to be written canted.

My new Pelikan will be available to me only from this evening, but I was permitted to take a fast shot before it was put under the Christmas tree:

Love your display with the 140 nib. So where would I look to get directions/instruction on changing the nib on my M200? And I have just added a KarasKustom Ink to my collection. What a large pen. I do like the feel of it and the way it lays down in. I can mostly read what I write.

I have hunted down a 140 barrel and cap from eBay. Decided it's time to return the Vintage 14k nib set up back to Mable (my blue M200). I have found another nib I have to have that will end up on one of my birds. I think that should hold me over for a bit.

Perhaps you can just see the "L" designation on the nib.

I'm a lefty and have never used one of these pens with the Left hander nib designation. It is a perfectly butter smooth writer. These little pens are workhorses and this one is no exception, and a very smooth writer, and Green to boot (my favorite color).

I may gift this to my grand daughter who, at 6 years of age has written me a letter !!!! How cool is that? though judging from her penmanship it might be advisable to hold off a year or so for the sake of the pen's longevity.
