Yesterday at the Bologna pen show I added the largest bird (M1000) to the flock. It has a medium nib. I just immersed it for a couple of second in a bottle of ink, and after having already written three-four very wet pages, it is still writing, the capacity of the large feed is amazing.

Overall the flock has not grow in member number because an M650 had to exit to compensate for the new bird.

The first of the flock! A lovely M200 green-marbled with a M-nib. Writes amazingly

Bought today at the Sheffield Pen Show, this alone was worth the drive :P

Colour-balance is slightly off, I need to become a better photographer!

Nice pen :)

I am glad you found something good. It's a long way from the SW to Sheffield. How was the show?

My latest bird. You don't see many of these out there, as I don't think they went over very well. I quite like it.

I found this old black pelikan 400 NN at a fleamarket yesterday, and it looked good when i got it cleaned up, even the piston seal was fine , it also writes very nice and smoothly (M size nib).

Yeah it was a long journey, but well worth it! The Show was very good, I just walked round admiring all the pens! A couple purchases were made, including my lovely M200 and also a vintage Burnham. This was the first pen show I've ever attended and I loved it!

That's a real beauty! Congratulations!

Thank you very much Jmccarty3, it´s similar to the 400NN tortoise i have (except for the colour) they even have the same nib size (M).

I have to block myself from eBay...

My White Tortoise M400 is due to arrive today...

Last night I was looking around and found a White M205 and placed the minimum bid and won.

So now I am waiting on this:

While waiting for this one to show up, won a rediculously low bid on this M200.

The pen, is truly mightier than the sword!

With two(!) m400's currently winging in (a brown tortoise and a 405 Stresemann), I consider myself beyond spoiled. The tortoise is making its way from the land of the rising sun, the Stresemann from the land of windmills and tulips. These will join my existing binde flock (of red, blue & green,) and should complete the number needed for favorite inks usage (i.e.: pens on hand always inked up.) The old scuffed green doesn't see much use, so may (sometime in future,) be re-clad with one of Shawn Newton's GORGEOUS celluloids and a new nib. But that won't be until I've grown well past the guilt of being so terribly spoiled. :)

Fortunately, my smaller hands allow for the 400's to be a perfect fit.

(Correction: I just read Shawn only works on M800's and M1000's, nothing smaller.) So scratch that idea...)

Christof - thanks for posting! Nice pen, and I really like reading the instructions. Now I know how to use my Pelikan correctly when climbing a mountain!

I went a little nutso recently with Pelikan M800 pens and nibs. Below I have aggregated the spoils from my recent shopping spree.

From left to right:

- B nib modified by Pendelton to a BLS

- OB nib modified by Pen Tuner to a CI with max variation

- M800 green demo with unmodified OBB

- First year M800 with unmodified O3B

Closer shots of the nibs:

To complete my set of the broader M800 nibs I need to find a 3B to join all my other B, BB, and IB nibs. If you have one you want to part with, shoot me a PM.

This forum needs a 'like' button. In any event, love the rare nibs. Good luck with the 3B.

Zaddick, if you haven't completely depleted your fountain pens funds yet, I might be able to help you.

My latest addition is a used M400 in blue with a single tone gold nib with two chicks. Still have to test it, but I already enjoy the look of the pen. It's kind of sparkly (no photo yet -- sorry!), which I haven't expected. Pelikans never cease to amaze me despite my online research before buying a pen (or, well, anything) ... They sometimes seem a bit plain in photos, but in real life the materials play beautifully with light (so much so I'm tempted to use "magically" instead of "beautifully").
