Some very beautiful pens posted above.

My latest addition is a modest but elusive bird, the Blue M215 (sorry for the bad photo):

I tried to find this one for quite a while last year, and then gave up. But last weekend while looking around eBay, after buying another pen, I spotted it being offered as a M205 (and it was never inked before).

Nice find. Elusive indeed. Took me a year of searching to snag mine. Enjoy!

PELIKAN - Too many birds in the flock to count. My pen chest has proven to be a most fertile breeding ground.

Just got this...M600 Pink. Shame there's no transparency in the barrel so can't see ink level. I didn't realise this when I bought it...still a nice pen though.

And just bought this white Tortoise M400 below which I meant to by years ago. The shimmery translucency of the barrel is very nice- probably the best looking Pelikan- would love to see it in the M800 or M1000 size.

This white tortoise pictured above has actually got the M600 Pink's nib in it (I didn't try to cap it!) I much prefer the look of the M600 nib to the M400 or M800. Seem much crisper and more elegant to me.

How is the weight of the pink M600 compared to the M400? I keep hoping that in a few years I can maybe get one of the pink ones someplace (couldn't afford one new) but if it's much heavier than an M400 I'll be wasting money I can't really afford to be wasting. Especially after having to get a replacement at some point for the Café Crème I lost a couple of weeks ago.... :bawl:

Thanks, Sargetalon.

These M215 are fantastic pens, I wish Pelikan would continue to make them.

I would say theres not much difference between the M400 and M600 size and weight, so probably not worth the purchase. The white tortoise way better, in my opinion, plus the M600 pinks used price is higher than its new price was. : ) : ) : ) : ) : ) : ) : ) : )

Is it really worth replacing an M200? Sometimes I look at "economical" Pelikan collections or just my collection and see what could could be just a few choice Nakaya's and Danitrio's...

Also, with my pension contributions, so many Nakaya's and Danitrio's I think to myself...

Also, other peoples pensions contributions ; )

These 3 pens with free gifts.

Wow. Did that blue pen stand count as one of the "free gifts"? Or just the inks?

Cause if you are interested, I'd totally trade you the gold one I picked up at DCSS a couple of years ago.... I still have the packaging and everything.

Hi Ruth

Yes, the blue bird pen stand, inks and Pelikan acrylic pen holder. Thanks for the offer as I already have the gold bird. :)

Well, it was worth the old college try.... http://www.4smileys.com/smileys/thinking-smileys/think_smiley_24.gif

I've wanted one of the blue ones ever since I first saw one, a couple of years ago at DCSS. Don't recall whose table it was on, but, sadly, it was a display piece and, hence, not for sale. :( The gold one I have came from a table across the room (both tables were in the large ballroom). Given what the asking price of a gold one on Ebay is at the moment, I apparently did very well on the price. But I'd trade it in a heartbeat for a blue one....

I found a large blue one at DCSS last year. Unfortunately, it won't hold anything larger than an M400 in its beak.

Rationalizing pen and ink purchases since 1967.
