Anybody know of a Pelikan M800 Anonymous meeting anywhere!

Got the Green Stripe this week, the Grand Place in Feb and the Burnt Orange back in January. Actually sold a spare Tortoise in February.

Meets at my house the 3rd Tuesday of each month....

Yesterday bought a M800 grand place. What a beauty. The material has so much deepness in it. Very happy.

Here it is with the rest of the m800's

Me envy those M800s.. Congrats on such collection. By the way, looks like everyone have the Grand Place.

Beautiful! Glad I'm not the only addict! Mine would be worse if I had kept all the 800's I've purchased over time. Sold a Red Stripe, Wall Street and Tortoise over the years, wish now I had kept them!

Thanks! They are very different in appearance but do fit nicely together.

RobertJRB, I think the M1005 came out some years ago and is increasingly hard to find.

Yes, I have been favoring the M8xx line of late.

Thanks! I have seen that nomenclature before. I tend to lump them together given that they are the same form factor but they do have their unique attributes seperating them from standard M800s.

Just got this...M600 Pink. Shame there's no transparency in the barrel so can't see ink level. I didn't realise this when I bought it...still a nice pen though.

And just bought this white Tortoise M400 below which I meant to by years ago. The shimmery translucency of the barrel is very nice- probably the best looking Pelikan- would love to see it in the M800 or M1000 size.

This white tortoise pictured above has actually got the M600 Pink's nib in it (I didn't try to cap it!) I much prefer the look of the M600 nib to the M400 or M800. Seem much crisper and more elegant to me.
Of course the M1000 nib is something else. I sold my M1005 black/ silver a while back, I'd love to buy another one but waiting for a more interesting finish than Green stripe.
I am currently trying not to buy the M800 Burnt Orange... if the M800's came with M1000- level springy nibs, I would have surely got it by now!

Too, too funny, kunju! :D

Joshua: why did I think you were all about 200s (and only 200s)??? Lovely collection! RichardJRB's collection similarly impressive.

This morning I am awaiting delivery of something <very> special and it's name doesn't begin with a P-, I am forced to admit: it is a W*term*n with a <large> number in its name and in another four or five years' time it will be 100 years old. It is the largest lever-filler they ever made -- so Mauricio says on his website (he'd already sold the one <he> had for sale)...

sweet birds the lot of them....

I have banned myself from buying more birds for a while.... as a matter of fact I am not buying any more of any brand - I am enjoying the ones I have. :)

I have finally scored a 400N Tortoise. CN nib, which I know many would eschew, however it's a good fit for me. Sorry I seem not to be able to upload pics from flickr anymore (offer me help if you care to) so you'll have to go look here .

Thank you Rick Propas!

Better pics later, I assure you.

Well done, 'Fish: you must have caught hold of him just at the last moment, for he's due to go away right now on his annual road-trip, isn't he? My tortoise 400 is of the NN kind; but there we are...yours is so much rarer.

There is talk elsewhere in FPN pages about the prices of flexible nibs going up -- I suppose we are going to see the same thing in our realm, too?

Right, my pitch to him was 'let me put a little walking around money in your pocket while you are traveling'. Yes the differences in appearance between the N the NN and the original 400 is so slight that if lined up along side one another the casual observer would have trouble discerning the difference. I'm glad I snagged this, it's been on my list for quite a while and fills a hole in the box which has been waiting.

As these crazy price increases hit the new pens I have no doubt that vintage pens will also go up, in fact I believe hat vintage pens have been undervalued for sometime. Not good for me, but a pleasant surprise for my kids when they are selling off the collection after I am gone.

Thanks Godfrey!

I'm glad my humour travels well from Sri Lanka, but you'll have to explain what "P-" stands for; my english is improving all the time, but perhaps not yet that advanced.

By the way, the "jump, jump" is a reference to '90's hip hop duo Kris Kros, who used to wear their clothes backwards. They were big in Sri Lanka, anyone else remember them?

Oh yeah, Kris Kross'll make ya jump jump. :D Alt Goldgrün in your white tortoise?

No recent additions to my flock, and I'm starting to get a bit, um,"jumpy" about it... Why does everything have to wait until April? As a late-March baby, I object to the lack of new M2xx birds available for my birthday. *sulk*
