Pelikan 100N from 1950's with never seen before yellowish grey binde:

C.

Wow! Another knockout. This design with its simplicity of line and ornamentation is proof of "less is more*".

* While this quote is from the introspective Browning soliloquy "Andrea del Sarto",

Well, less is more, Lucrezia: I am judged.
There burns a truer light of God in them ...
it is better known as the aphorism attributed to Mies Van der Rohe.
Mies was to return to the phrase again and again, effectively making it his own, referring to his later efforts to reduce and distil buildings and their components into simple forms in which art and technics - geometry and matter - were integrated in a more persuasive tectonic expression ...
This book review from Phaedon Press also includes the original source in the architectural context: Peter Behrens.

That's a nice color, C. Cool find!

Look what followed me home from Baltimore today....

M800 Red striped & M910 Toledo

Wow, that yellow Toledo is gorgeous! But you knew that already.

I'm new around here but wanted to show what I found earlier this year.

I bought this poor neglected fellow off of eBay for a really good price. After a lot of flushes (and prayers that nothing would crack), I was able to free the piston. I replaced the cork seals with some 20 cent silicone ones from the local hardware store and I'm proud to say that the patient was resuscitated. I didn't think I was skilled enough to try making my own cork seals. I'm in no way a pen restorer, but I was able to tinker my way through this.

I'm pretty sure this is a very old Pelikan 100. The size marking on the piston knob is "08" which as best as I can tell is an oblique fine. The finial logo is the old 4 baby pelicans one. It's proving to be one of my most flexible nibs and it gushes ink out like a fire hose. I'm wary of trying to adjust it any more to decrease the flow for fear of making irreversible damages. hope the photo comes out well.

I was bored Sunday and, after a couple glasses of wine, I ended up ordering an M151 (Italian market M150) from Marte Modena. I bought the classic green/black combo. Supposed to be here tomorrow.

I'm almost as curious about the box as I am the pen. :)

M805 Demonstrator from Massdrop a few weeks ago. Enough pics already here (which means I haven't got it sorted out ;])

Do like it, M because Pels are so wet and broader than many others, and because the last Pel I got is F (M805 Anthracite).

Filled it with Levenger Amethyst (even though i'm not ordinarily a purple type), and it writes as beautifully as I expected.

I'm not a big collector of any single brand, but this makes what - seven Pelikans I now now own me, probably more than any other single name.

I'm certain there are more in my future, just as soon as I pay off the house.

No matter, pictures are always great to see!!

I've been obsessing over this pen (and the 1005 demo) for some time. Luckily, I now have one inbound.

I, too, find that most of my pens are now Pelikans. I just peeked in the drawer and saw 12 of them. Yikes!

As soon as you pay off the house? Don't you mean as soon as you take a second on the house?

My newest addition, on the far right, arrived today from Appelboom. Thanks to Joshua at The Pelikan's Perch for his informative piece on ordering from overseas vendors!

That's a beauty. The flock looks great. Enjoy!

PELIKAN - Too many birds in the flock to count. My pen chest has proven to be a most fertile breeding ground.

Thanks, and thank you again for directing me to your post. Besides a small wrinkle with a customs declaration for the ink that came with the pen (aka "an imported chemical liquid") that I easily resolved with FedEx it was a very pleasant buying experience.

My two demonstrators - M200 and the M805....!

Love any demonstrator, but especially a Pelikan! What kind of nib do you have on the M200?

Thank you both! I love the 800: perfect size for me! Now if only the raden pens weren't so expensive...

Yes, particularly the Pelikans.... Apart from these, I also have the Cognac and the yellow highlighter...

-On the M200 - Italic

-On the M805 - Broad ( ground to a medium italic )

So this is a bad iPhone photo in sub-par lighting, but here's my flock with my new Stresemann nestled in there! It's entirely possible it's a case of new-pen prejudice, but I love the Stresemann so much right now. The 80x is an awesome pen anyway, but this finish really perfects it.
