What's Your Most Recent Addition To The Flock? 2016

Beautiful! Congrats.

Does that mean it was you that beat me in that ebay auction?

:D

Enjoy your pen.

LOL. No, that wasn't me. I scored this one from a friend in GE who found it in a small shop outside of Rammstein. Cosmetically it was in pretty decent shape, and I'd say that it cleaned up really nicely. The nib shows no scratches at all, which is kind of surprising for its age. Usually there are microscratches on the nibs that I've come across.

It was more than I had hoped to pay (I'm frugal), but they're just so damn hard to find now that I thought I had better pull the trigger while I still could.

Good luck with your hunt! I missed out on a red one from ebay about 6 months ago, myself. I want to say that one went for $350 or more. It can be a tough pill to swallow sometimes. I suppose its all the more satisfying when you do eventually find one at a competitive price.

I managed to get a (working!) blue/ silver stripe M215, which I'd had on my wish list for a while now. :) Though I think that will pretty much complete my small flock, as I'm not ready to make the kind of price commitment needed for anything above the M2xx series.

I was tempted - I resisted for a whole 24hrs. Yay, go me and my willpower...

I hear ya. My resolve is weakening somewhat, but the fact that I have an M605 Marine Blue and a Pilot CH92 Blue demo is helping.

I bought my first Pelikan last year, an M205 in Taupe and I love it. I've been looking around and trying to decide what I want next, and I like the Souveran M400 in White Tortoise and I really, really want the M620 Piccadilly Circus (looking for a good used price).

Just ordered black/blue M805. Medium nib. Looking forward to joining the flock.

Be well. Play nice.

You are very lucky to have found one. They are really hard to get.

Last year I looked all over for them and never found one. Then at the beginning of this year I found an online store that had a brand new, but the price was salty. I decided to sleep on it a couple of days and the pen was gone!

Recently a few appeared on ebay, but the price is more than what I'm willing to pay (more than $600 :yikes: ). Oh, well, the hunt continues :) .

Congratulations on a beautiful pen. Enjoy it.

M805 Demonstrator’s

…with and without engravings

Thought I’d upload some pics of my Pelikan M805 Demonstrators, one with, one without engravings (English). Pictured below chilling out on their Nagasawa pen cushion…

I love the way the rhodium-ised nib looks when capped, like an astronaut…

Here’s the engraved demonstrator (right) filled with Iroshizuku Kosumosu, regular (left) filled with yama budo…

Congrats on a good find!

Thanks! I managed to come across someone on eBay who was selling two of them (!) in/from an estate sale of some kind. I was especially happy, as a few months ago I got one that the piston fell out of when it arrived, so I had to return it. It was nice to find one that works!

I, too, bought one when they were released and it still makes my heart go pitty-pat. When Artsnibs gets caught up I'll have it stubbed.
