Not bad. The Kuru Toga mechanism rotates the lead when you lift it after applying pressure though, so the scribbly bit is really just a demonstration of what happens when the lead doesn't rotate. If you extend the lead slightly, push up & release, you can follow one of the two KT symbols on the orange bit inside the end of the grip. So shorter strokes are better for keeping the point more conical for consistent line width, longer strokes less so, since the mechanism doesn't rotate as frequently.

Purchased a basic model. Doesnt quite work for me because more often than not I write in cursive and twirling a pencil once in a while has become a habit to me to obtain desired line thickness. Furthermore the tip wobble a bit to allow for the rotating mechanism to work.

Kuru Toga also doesnt quite work for softer leads because the rotating mech just cannot keep up with lead wear and I tend to use softer leads in my MP.

It's a neat idea, but it doesn't work for me. When I write, the rotation mechanism can't keep up since I go several letters before lifting the tip. When I do numbers, it rotates too much since I lift the pencil with every stroke.

I gave away mu Kuru Toga 0.3 the because sharp edge would catch and tear the paper. The 0.5 works better, but I still don't like it. The tip wiggle caused by the rotation mechanism bothers me.

It takes some getting used to and then it becomes a great pencil for doing forms and whatnot. It's really only for printers because the cursives will wear the tip a bit too much so the mechanism can't really keep up. I rarely use pencils any more but this is still one of my favourites.

The 0.5 is really a 0.3 because of the mechanism.
