Actually, it is not good news today.

I have suffered with a rather lingering cold for a while now, and not seeming to shake it off, I went to see my doctor's surgery, and he has given me a course of anti-biotics.

Needless to say, that I am not at my usual place on a Saturday, I am at home feeling pretty rough, but my trusty friend Tim is manning my stand at Portobello Road, so hopefully he will be alright up there today.

Fortunately, yesterday turned out to be really quite busy up at Portobello.

There were plenty of people who obviously came out with the sole intention of the desire to buy their loved ones a fountain pen for Christmas!

So, I was a very happy bunny yesterday by the time I got back home. Very tired, but very happy!

I had a quite pleasant surprise this morning.

There was an E-mail waiting for me with an order for 7 Stainless Steel Capped Parker 51 fountain pens!

It is not exactly going to cancel the National Debt, but a very welcome order nevertheless!

Yes, I had already been informed about the burglary, and my heart goes out to the poor chap who has lost his treasured pens.

In the past I have been similarly informed about such losses, and I have often wondered what I would be expected to do, if indeed I were to be offered the stolen goods. It's all very well thinking that the obvious thing would be to inform the police, but that would not be a very easy thing to do in practical terms.

I think that I would be inclined to make a very low offer for the items offered, and hope that the offer was accepted, and then I would get in touch with the person who lost the pens, but there is no doubt about it, it would not be an easy thing to deal with.

I'm afraid I have no news about them, but I can only assume that the chap who makes the Base-Pens for me has been busy with his usual work, leading up to Christmas.

Hopefully things should start to happen early in the New Year.
