Was he reluctant, or does he normally write with a FP?

Person was older and remembered writing with a FP. Did a practice run on other paper before signing and filling in the wedding certificate but enjoyed the experience!

Laban S-C1B-F with Pelikan 4001 royal blue for stuff at home, and my Lamy AL-Star with Diamine Saddle Brown at university.

I forgot to refill the Geha pen and had to pick something else for my lecture notes today... sigh. The AL-Star is a nice pen, though. I'll really have to get off my butt and finally buy an EF nib for that thing; I'd use it more frequently then.

ALL the pens :'D

No, seriously. I found a web app for creating calligraphy paper in PDF form - including an option for A4 paper dimensions and all sorts of options for customizing stuff - and now that I finally have guidelines for letter angles that are just right, I'm basically going through my entire pen collection and writing a few lines with each pen.

Apart from that: Laban S-C1B-F for notes and a Geha Schulfüller for basically everything else, as always.

@mehandiratta: Might have said that once or twice already, but your posts are always so very pretty.

So far today it's been the Vac Red Shadow Wave (Waterman Mysterious Blue) and the Medieval Lapis Konrad (with dilute Papier Plume Forget-Me-Not).

I *was* going to start a shopping list with the (found) Morrison gold-filigree overlay ringtop (Robert Oster Moss) but it wouldn't start; it's such a small pen though that it probably needs to be refilled, but I'm not sure that there's enough left in the sample vial to be accessible (short pen, lever filler). Oh, and I noticed that the ink was sort of crusting on the end of the nib, the way people have noted about some Diamine inks (particularly some of the browns and oranges).

I was going to use the newly repaired and refilled green Snorkel, but discovered that the bottle of vintage Sheaffer Brown (red box, color more like sepia) was *leaking*, :o so I'm going to have to hoard the ink a bit.... :( There's some ink in the bottom of a ziplock bag which *might* be salvageable if I had a syringe with me (I now have the bottle in a different ziplock bag, without the box -- which is pretty much toast at this point -- along with a paper towel for "just in case") and the box and the 'loose" ink is in a bag by themselves along with a Nalgene bottle of distilled water which I haven't yet pulled out and wiped down; fortunately, the other ink samples were in a separate, smaller ziplock bag, and that bag is now wiped off....

"It's very nice, but frankly, when I signed that list for a P-51, what I had in mind was a fountain pen."

Thank you for the link. Very usable (just tried a 1.1 layout).

You're welcome!

Yep, it's a pretty neat thing and I'm quite glad I found it.

RE: Topic: Got yet another Jinhao x450 as a birthday present (green marble), so of course I got myself some green ink (Pelikan 4001 dark green) and oh my is that a beautiful combination. I used brilliant green for a few years and I hated it, but it was the only readily available green option at the time... dark green looks and writes far better.

The other pen of the day is my Lamy AL-Star with Diamine Saddle Brown - I finally went and got myself an EF nib for that thing. It's truly a thing of beauty. Surprisingly smooth and really fine.

Have you considered Diamine Sherwood Green? Beautiful deep green.

Well, I definitely have now. 'Tis very pretty, indeed.

Shame that Diamine inks are so hard to come by in Germany - no store I know of actually sells it, and buying online is far more expensive than it should be, because the shipping costs kind of stink. It's the only reason why I'm not writing 90% of my stuff in Oxblood and Ancient Copper yet.

My ink wishlist is pretty much 75% Diamine at this point...

I actually only have Saddle Brown because I physically moved my butt to Britain and dragged my family through a pretty good part of London in search of some ink - and then Saddle Brown was just about the only thing the store had.

(On the plus side, though, I can get my hands on Pelikan, Lamy, Standardgraph and some Kaweco, Waterman and Parker inks really easily.)

Back to nothing special, today I am travelling with a Lamy 2000 / Lamy Dark Lilac and a Dupont Montparnasse black lacq / Waterman's Harmoniously blue-ish Green.
