My beautiful ASA Genius ebonite fountain pen with JOWO feed & 1.1 stub nib arrived this afternoon!!! It is beautiful; highly polished; nicely balanced; smooth threads. I am so excited that I did not take time to flush the nib, but immediately inked it with Iroshizuku Kon Peki. I am pleased, pleased, pleased!. Thanks to

Mr. Subramaniam

Note - Will put it through its' paces later on today.

Beautiful pen: shape, look, size -- everything about it.

If you rub your it, does your finger then smell of old car tyre? I'm just curious because that's how to test if a vintage pen is made of BHCR.

Enjoy the pen. [i think that that gratuitous advice is fairly redundant!!]

Cheers,

David.

I'm using my purple Pilot MR Retro Pop F, which came in the mail today.

How do you like the F nib? I ended getting an M when I bought mine (one of the plain silver color ones without any "decoration" because I thought the F I tried was scratchy; I was lucky enough to be someplace where I could try the pens out (Bromfield Pen Shop, up in Boston; standard disclaimer about affiliation except as a satisfied customer).

"It's very nice, but frankly, when I signed that list for a P-51, what I had in mind was a fountain pen."

It does have that unique 'aroma' when you rub it to let you know it is the real McCoy (LOL). I spent more time writing with it last nite, and I am abundantly pleased!! It is a lovely pen.

The F was a little scratchy at first, but it is smoothing out. It is almost an EF. I'll probably use it mostly for writing checks and filling out forms.

Playing around with my green Esterbrook J pen after breakfast trying to use up the ink before the new, finer, nibs I ordered arrives next week from Anderson.
