I just recently rediscovered an interest in fountain pens, having used "those other things" for forty years or so. I had dabbled with these elegant scribblers back when I was in school. Most recently I have been collecting and using Jinhao pens from Ebay, and I remain astonished at the wonderful prices and value of these pens. If I ever win the lottery maybe I will buy one of those thousand dollar pens, but until then I am very happy with m y collection. And, the inks! I regret not getting involved years ago.

The pen in rotation is Lamy Nexx with 1.1 Stub Nib which is inked with Kale Blue Ink which is one of the locally produced ink by one of the pen seller under Kale Pens. Kale Pen is fountain pen shop in Pune which manufactures and sells Parker style pens and also inks. Surprisingly the inks are also sold in plastic pouches.

And today's inspiration comes from one of the greatest travellers of all time, Ibn Batuta.

My probably Russian fountain pen, to get used to it, now that I fixed the nib.

My old Geha fountain pen, trying to get used to the nib. It is really quite soft*, resulting in some very subtle line variation during normal writing.
Which would probably look great if I could actually get it to look slightly less random.

My white Pentel Tradio TRF, for taking clean, super-readable notes. The nib is too broad and wet for me to write cursive with, but it's my go-to pen for printing, so it's pretty much on the list every day.

*although I wouldn't say it's a flex nib
