Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

Another shot of the ASA Nauka. Such a difficult material to capture, and compounded by the exceptional lack of camera skills.

One day I may be able to acquire a pretty Mabie Todd (in fact, there may be one on the way, we shall see). In the meantime, fresh from re-sacking and with the addition of a clip courtesy of our own Cob, there's this:

fpn_1468635974__dscn1564.jpg

Paper is Rhodia, ink is Ecclesiastical Stationery Supplies Registrar's Ink (ESSRI), pen is a Swan SF2.

EOC, your pictures are much better than mine! Thank you for sharing.

That's certainly not a lack of skill! Very clever shot, and a lovely looking pen.

It's interesting how surface tension in the barrel holds the ink up at one end so that it looks like it is in motion. At least I think that's what causes it.

Anyway, good pen. Fun to use. I get a lot of comments on it from work colleagues. :)

Where can you buy these EoC? I had a look on the Bay beginning with "e" but no joy.

Nice photography btw!

Thank you for your comments! I have been enjoying your posts since I joined FPN. You pointed me in the direction of "Blue Steel," and it has become my favorite ink, muscling out the previous fave, MB Midnight Blue :)

I would like to participate in CRV, and will PM you for details, if that's okay. Thanks!

You captured the delicate, flowing lines of the pen so well! The transparency is definitely the icing on the cake. Though ASA is not the first company to utilize this design (i.e., the contour and the threads), they certainly did a great job with this model. Now I am thinking of adding the pen to my collection. I already have the Wizard and Genius twins.

Today, I am thinking of summertime themes. What better way to celebrate summer than to go on a trip, big or small, it does not matter. I think the Sheaffer Tuckaway makes a great pen to take on the road, ideal for writing in a Midori notebook, I think.

I would suggest contacting ASA pens either HERE, or ask Vaibhav Mehandiratta who started the group buy HERE - that's what I did.

Thanks EoC. I was kinda hoping they would be more easily obtainable(I guess it's a tailor made product), but I'll definitely have a look through that link to see what's on offer.

on the cap above bands should be a number. and this link

http://parkerpens.net/codekey.html

should explain this number.

I have a Mk I Centennial in this same blue color with "Parker Made in U.K." and the code PL, which stands for 3rd quarter of 1987. Oddly enough, I have a Mk I green International set, the ones that were made exclusively for American Express customers, that has no marks anywhere on the pen at all, except for the "Parker 18K 750" on the nib. The green set has never been inked, and still has the gold paper bands around the clips that say "Parker Duofold" and "Made in U.K."

Rationalizing pen and ink purchases since 1967.

My pen for this week is an old favourite, my Parker 75 with italic nib. The nib is surprisingly flexi and so I have to use a lot less pressure than with some of my other pens. I bought this new in 1981, and it's still a great pen. The poor photos dont show the splendour of the Thuya brown laquer.

Noihvo - That material is amazing. I'd probably spend quite a bit of time lost in its intricacies...

Tartuffo - I've sen pictures of that pen before and I am always amazed at it. I think I will need to add a FC pen to my arsenal soon! Right now a Newton Pens will be my next addition :)

I've always liked your writing and pictures, Vaibhav, and you are almost tempting me to have a go at grinding my own nibs... :D

Anyway...

Ink is Oster Deep Sea, paper is Rhodia.

Lovely picture of your Nauka... I am loving that pen so far!

Fountain pen novice. I am aquiring pens at a frightening pace, I am afraid it might be an addiction... I see I am not alone here on FPN! Latest acquisitions - Platinum 3776 Kumpoo with Diamine Eau de Nil, Opus 88 Koloro inked with Diamine November Rain, Franklin-Christoph Model Pocket 66 prototype inked with Franklin-Christoph Honeycomb.
