The following was inspired by the penmanship of Eli. Apologies for the copycat nature of this, the poor handwriting and the even poorer photography. It's not every day I get even slightly lucky on a nib (what am I saying, I've never been lucky with nibs) but this one was interesting and - importantly - cheap :D

First of all, I'm flattered. Second of all...

A perfect match: your hand, the pen, the ink, the crosshairs ;)

first of all thank you for the compliment...

I must tell you that those are the two vintage beauties that u have .... amazing...

W52 is what I have been wanting to get hold of for a very long time...

I'm sure you'll get what you want some day - and then show us this fantastic pen its full glory.

Very nice Empty, great nib too. I really like UK Parker nibs from this period, I have a Duofold in the same colour as your own with a broad oblique and it is a delight to use, I bought it from a monastry who were fund raising. This pen had been kept unused in their stationery store, and a little too close to the window for 50 years, mine has faded a little with the light.

After six months with the Junior, I bought a Senior (black, Medium nib), and ordered a Slimfold (blue, Fine). I'm afraid in the end I'll get 'em all - the English Duofold family is the quintessence of understatement, modest-looking pens with smooth, juicy, generously tipped nibs. Your penmanship is outstanding!

Today I will be rolling out my Pelikan M800 and Jinhao 500...

How's your 500? I thought of trying one, but the reviews were lukewarm at most, so I gave up the idea.

Having viewed this thread nearly everyday for a few months, I feel the urge to contribute! I tend to use 1 pen a week, all of them having a stub of some fashion or another! This week its my old Targa. Bought with my first months pay some 36 years ago. It's a bit broad, but really lovely to use.

Wonderful and thoughtful selection of items :)

Thanks!

Awesome that you are still using your fathers pen... also really like that Aviation Timepiece!

It really is a great pen - he did have good taste in buying it. Waiting on his MB Meisterstuck to be repaired (he left ink in it forever, like 3 years, then unscrewed the blind really hard and broke it when it seized) - he is a judge now and other than signing orders, he rarely uses pens so he prefers a rollerball. Not that I'm sad about it, I get to use two amazing vintage pens!

Your picture makes me feel nostalgic. Many moons ago, I had a Speedmaster. One of the best timepieces ever made. Sorry for the off-top!

It really is underappreciated. As an engineer by education (patent litigation now) I really appreciate all mechanical watches but everyone and their dog has a Submariner nowadays - not too many people have a Speedy. Combined with the history, it's too good of a watch not to own. Over 30 years old and it's only +2 a day - and it's such a classic look.

I love the desk...

and you have an amazing handwriting,,,

Thanks! And you're one to talk! Your handwriting is always great. Mine is only good when I lean over that paper and very, very carefully write in script like this :)

EDIT: Jeez, I forgot to post my pen today! This has been a busy week, so I guess it was my yearning that made me write "Happy Tuesday". If only I could have 24 more hours!

Pen is a pocket one I turned from a red/black ebonite blank a few weekends ago. 1.4 Edison stub, Kon-Peki.

This is another awesome pen in this thread. The bonus, the Masuyama nib, must be a huge deal for FC customers. I only have one FC pen with a Masuyama CI nib, and I love it.

I bought my first FC ( Marietta ) because it was a good excuse to try out a Masuyama cursive italic at a bargain price. I liked the nib so much I couldn't resist buying another ~ the Antique Glass

A perfect match: your hand, the pen, the ink, the crosshairs ;)

Thank you Eli W ; it is fun picking an ink & paper to go with such a beautiful pen.

Seems I must have reached my photo upload limit - I can no longer natively upload images to FPN. Will try using photobucket:

Today is the Pilot Custom 74 and Sailor Pro Gear Realo - two fine pens from our Eastern friends!

Diamine Teal and Sheaffer nibs go so well together.

In the meanwhile, three new kids on the block:

Beautiful pens, as always, very nice handwriting, as always. My favorite is the Sheaffer Snorkel. Timeless.

This nib! Wow. You don't see these nibs very often. A feast for the eyes.

Because my photography 'skills' are embarrassing compared to most others in this thread I thought I'd take an atmospheric one to disguise my lack of skill.

Well this pen is too iconic not to acquire! This Lamy 2000 in medium arrived for me today, and after the usual flushing, rinsing and inking, I'm glad to say that it writes beautifully and I'm very impressed. I've heard so much about the sweet spot and the ears, but neither bother me. The ears are miles away from where my fingers rest, and the sweet spot doesn't seem to exist for me. It has a little softness to the nib but less so than the Pelikan.

Sorry that the photos are so lousy.

The scans of the writing will be much better.
