Don't Just Tell Us About The Pen You're Using, *show* Us! - 2016

My italic is so very rusty, but yesterday I gave a presentation to my local pen club on Esterbrooks and I had to put an Osmiroid nib in at least one. It's been fun to play with again, but now I'm mediocre in roundhand and in italic (I used to be almost half-way decent). Story of my life. A constant search for yet another skill witch which to pursue in mediocrity.

The pen isn't very heavy at all, especially when compared to a solid 18k gold Parker Premier of about the same size. I find it extremely comfortable to write with. The feeds on these older pens are all ebonite.

Thanks, that's just what I wanted to hear. :)

In today’s rotation I have Ratnam Tarpoda (Big Size Ebonite) inked with Krishna Cool Breeze Ink. Ratnam Pens is oldest fountain pen manufacturer and part of Swadeshi Movement in India. The nib is self grounded to medium italic and writes super smooth.

Don't have many European nibs. This one is fun, though. Practicing some text for a ballet my wife is staging.

Walnut ink.

Doing some planning

26519989610_382f43518a_z.jpg

Planning by Liz, on Flickr

As always, Liz, your writing is exquisitely beautiful though, on this occasion, my attention has been caught by the pen pouches. Where did you get them from? I am looking for something like that to keep pens in the front pocket of my man-bag ... oops, erm, I mean shipping-centre-survival-kit, not man-bag -- obviously.

Cheers,

David.

The pen in rotation today is one of my all time favourite, Pilot Custom 74 (Music Nib) which I have reviewed here : LINK

It is currently inked with MontBlanc Golden Yellow. This ink is more in the territory of orange colour and thus the name golden yellow. Ink is legible and is justified in pen with wet nibs.

Today’s thought comes from one of the Infantry Journal.

Beautiful, the pen, the ink, the nib, the shading, the writings! :-)

I wish there were buttons to press "Like" on the posts (as is on Facebook), cause I really like so many of your posts.

Today at work, like so many other days, I use one of my frankenTWSBIs, the vac mini with a Swan nib. Ink: Iroshizuku grey "miscoloured" by KWZI azure blue
