Recent acquisition and possibly my most beautiful pen......

My photo doesn't really capture the unique beauty, incredible craft, and depth of this ST Dupont Chairman Grenat pen.....

And please excuse my writing too.....

I really love the ink. :)

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

Mark--

There really is nothing quite like an ST Dupont. I have the original large Chairman, and you can just stare at the depth of the lacquer for hours. Congratulations on your Grénat!

I'm flipping out on that Bock dual nib. Might have to violate my "no more pens" resolve. I like your deco-ish hand, too.

I am using Kaweco Sport with Bock Dual Nib....

Very interesting pen.

Ink in use is Pelikan 4001 Violet.

That nib looks cool, but very dangerous to me somehow...... :)

I would like to share my newest acquisition. This is not a review but just my thoughts on this beautiful pen. My wife bought for me for my birthday an Onoto Chuzzlewit for me for my birthday . attachicon.gifIMG_1445.JPG I wanted an Onoto pen and when we saw this on their website we fell in love with it - also because the novel Martin Chuzzlewit means a lot to me personally. This is a truly beautiful pen, large (I prefer larger pens) well made and not too heavy. I hope you can see the colour - the marbled purple bands are truly exquisite in real life. attachicon.gifIMG_1453.JPG I like the end of the cap and the clip. attachicon.gifIMG_1457.JPG attachicon.gifIMG_1458.JPG It has an 18carat fine nib attachicon.gifIMG_1455.JPGand it writes superbly. It is smooth no skipping and for me the right amount of wetness. I haven't inked it just dipped it to try it out. I used Waterman Tender Purple ink. As I am a novice in the ART of fountain pens (as opposed to just writing with them) I am in the process of trying different inks and this and the Waterman Serenity Blue are my first. Please excuse my writing this is one of many things I have to work on!!!!attachicon.gifIMG_1452.JPG When we bought this James Boddy from Onoto included their beautiful black leather pen case as well. I hope to acquire more Onoto pens if this is an example of their quality and service.

Those Onoto's are very nice pens!....have had vintage and modern Onotos....both are great in their own ways....

New Pen and inks!

Just came in, my new Falcon SEF, inked with an ink I've been drooling over, Yama-Guri. But I need another pen for the Shin-Kai now, oh no.

Coming from Lamy Safari, Metropolitan, and a TSWBI, definitely a step up for me.

Very handsome classic looking pen and classy photo too.....

They are here! And one is mine!

Thank you for the good words....and totally agree about ST Dupont's.....it amazes me that they don't get more attention around here, given how incredible their workmanship, finishes, and style is with pens....and lovely writers to......

Now back to staring at that incredible lacquer design.......

Took me a while to find that pen, but it was worth the effort....

Even with the image quality, one can see some very nice pens you have.......

Besides the Chairman I recently posted here, I have some Olympios, so, can attest to their very high quality as with other ST Dupont pens...

You might try finding a location near a window with some daylight (not harsh bright sun....) to place your pens when taking photos...Found it can make a big difference.......avoid using camera flash....too many bright spots and reflections on pen surfaces......just a suggestion.................

Does it scare you???

Yes it does......seems like you ought to have a special license to operate that nib......

Cool nib and beautiful handwriting! :)

I didn't like my Kaweco much, but I'd get another one for this amazing nib.

This pen was made for a good fill of Noodler's Apache Sunset if ANY pen was designed for any ink!

Thank you for the compliments. I am very please with my S.T. Dupont pens. The nibs are just perfect in the way the feel on the paper and how consistent and dependable the flow is. My Olympios are both very firm nibs, but that doesn't bother me. I prefer it over nibs that feel kind of mushy.

Also thank you for the advice on pictures. I will try to get some better shots soon.

How is the Montparnasse in use? I was initially turned off by the strange design with no section, but I'm quickly becoming entranced with it. I think I must have one.

I'm really disappointed with the designs of all of S.T Dupont's current models. None of them speak to me.
