Northstar, those are beautiful.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

Thank you amber :) my photography skills needs are very very humble compared to the other fellow members.

I'm enjoying all the posts immensely, especially the italics, the kurrent, the sketches and the Parker Penman Sapphire. :)

Here's my little contribution, a quote from Lattimore's translation of the Iliad written with the only old fountain pen to be passed down to me from family (I read with great envy all those threads where people find Montblancs and Parkers in the cupboard at home!) -- a Platignum currently fitted with a fine nib and inked with Pelikan 4001 Königsblau.

I was able to get Benson's The First Writing Book from the library, and that made me realize how much my writing had departed from the italic standard! I'm still trying to fix it, starting with a more appropriate nib width relative to my x-height. :(

Rednaxela and I.M., thanks for your kind words. :) I'm still struggling to get my letters to fit into the proscribed parallelogram, they're too square and wide.

That put my italic to shame :D

Definitely not! :) I'd be lost without the guidelines for letter height, whereas your letters are neat without them.

The pen in rotation today is Oliver F27 with Schmidt Medium Nib inked with mix of Chelpark Emerald Green and Chelpark Black.

And inspiration for today comes from one of the great scientist and 11th President of India, APJ Abdul Kalam

This pen is a revelation of the obvious: smoothness, reliability and good looks does not need to be expensive. Could easily use mine as a long-termer. Quite a wet writer though, and drains the Platinum converter at an alarming rate.

You just managed to convince me that I need this pen

Messing around with a Platinum Preppy 03 and some micro mesh, trying to add a little line variation. Not wholly successful (but at least nib still functions), but I have convinced myself I have achieved a little change. (Grey line is with original preppy nib)

You have a beautiful handwriting... I seem to get impressed every time I see your post

Thanks. The nib is very smooth and springy, though not as springy as the Bock nibs used in Conid pens.

The lightness in weight of the cotton resin of the pen body is amazing.
