Pilot parallels with J Herbin Emerald of Chivor and Diamine Red Lustre.

Your writing is awesome Inkluminati, but you can pull your own finger!

My uncle pulled this on us when we were young and the lesson was learned.

Today, a dip pen sent to me as a gift from a wonderfully thoughtful pen pal in California. The holder is homemade, and the nib is soft and supple. Great combination.

INK: Private Reserve Naples Blue.

Your work is truly spectacular. Do you sell your original drawings?

Thank you very much Snak, Eli :)

This time again a traditional pencil one I made this evening.

When executed properly, pencil drawing is sublime and so satisfying to enjoy.

I will never have the patience and the skill to use pencils to this degree.

Sorry it's not an exciting pen but...

Pilot, springy nib, moonlit night ink.

Inkluminati, you are a most lucky person. EoC will consider himself fortunate if even a single card arrives, and there is no certainty of that.

Hi,

Thanks you very much. I do, but these are from my sketchbook, and I hate to rip it to pieces. But sometime around summer I'll have some limited art prints of the drawings for sale

Enjoy your Sunday

Yours

It's warmed my day to see your handwriting again Fountainpagan :)

I also really like the look of the Waterman and Guider. One day I'll try out a Japanese UEF to find out if I really would like one. I tend to love EF nibs, the finer the better, but I also wonder if there's such a thing as too fine a pen.

Which inks are these?

Thank you I.M. :)

There is a little elasticity at the end of the UEF nib which allows to vary a little the line. But this UEF nib is indeed a very fine and precise nib.

The inks are: Waterman Havane, Iroshizuku Tsuki-yo and Louis Vuitton's Rouge Libertin. But the photo doesn't do justice to either of them.

Thanks. I'm glad it made you happy.

I work as an freelance Illustrator. The last year or so I have illustrated more than 20 children's schoolbooks. I have done more than 40 bookcovers for the Danish book market. I have illustrated books for a couple of English publishers, a Canadian. And done tons of editorial illustrations for both Danish, english and American magazines, posters etc.

But no, I haven't published anything solely with my work, but I'm slowly working on a book with my urban sketches, most of them done in denmark and England.

And I'm planning to do a round of limited prints of mainly sketches/drawings from my sketchbooks

Lazy days. Here's a coloured version of my drawing from yesterday. It's a Fabriano Venezia sketchbook and I'm not totally convinced yet. This is my first sketch in this sketchbook, so I need to do a few more to make up my mind. Though I do think the paper is a bit too smooth, and You got to be careful when adding watercolours, other wise you can rub of your line work. The colours does stand out nicely and the paper doesn't buckle.

I use De Atramentis archive black ink, which is completely waterproof.

Wow Eli, those are very flattering photos of the Parson's Essential! Nice work :)

Thank you. My writing samples are far less flattering - I'm still trying to tame this beautiful pen. In the meanwhile, a few lines of the Parson's Essential Special Kurrent:

http://farm2.staticflickr.com/1718/24538367404_e5dce6cd9d_c.jpg

The ink is Diamine Maroon (and Diamine Tyrian Purple for the footnotes, written with the Sheaffer Craftsman Touchdown. Since last week, this very special purple got significantly darker).

More conventional Kurrent (actually, a 1920s version, called Offenbacher):

Waterman 52v, Iroshizuku Kon-Peki. The ink is a tad too wet for this wonderful little nib, but it's behaving well - no feathering, etc. Just wet.

(Waterman 12 1/2 ..... J. Herbin Emerald of Chivor)

Looking at this Emerald of Chivor Goodness, I can reconsider...

Pen of the day. This one is a keeper.

Push button to expose piston fill mechanism. (Not your VP ok!)

A keeper. A stunner. A true Gran Lusso. I almost bought one last fall, but finally opted for the 88P. In your hand it will sing, be sure!

Sorry it's not an exciting pen but...

Pilot, springy nib, moonlit night ink.

In my eyes, the pen is quite exciting - as well as the ink, the quote, and your penmanship.

Life is great, and so is your drawing. Love it.

Gorgeous.

I really like the subtle overlap from the frame edge at the bottom. Beautiful work. Thanks for sharing. :)

A fabulous foursome! Btw, what's your favourite stub?

Depends...

The vac when I need to do a lot of fast writing without paying any attention to the writing itself (example: during an interview). The Parker when I'm in a meeting and have to take some notes here and a few notes there. The Sheaffer when I can pay attention to the writing proces (it's a little more to the italic side, but when held correctly, it's a dreamnib).
