This ink is too light yet it's a perfect match for the pen -- I think I'm just keen on the eyedropper bottle. It's a good highlighting ink and also great for ink mixing ( cocktail shaker required ).

Haven't inked the pen yet . . .

any suggestions ?

Copying out some rhymes in Dutch to help get the words into my head.

I wonder if any of our Dutch/Flemish colleagues might recognize the story/song?

Oh! That music nib is a beauty!

Thanks. And, if only I have some nice dip pen ink to use it with. Atlas, I don't know how to use a dip pen...

...until you see it transplanted on a more serviceable device for writing.

#InkyFingers,I am impressed by your penmanship! How do you get such line variation from the Aurora Optima? Mine has a rigid nib, though it's one of my best writers.

Thanks. My penmanship is still in the works (needed lots and lots of practice still.) As for the Aurora Optima, it's a franken pen. ES Johnson #6. Regular writing, ink flow is very generous. However, when flexing on majuscule ... the feed needs to be primed with 1/8 of a twist on the piston. (Sorry I don't do dips or obliques.)

Fountain pen novice. I am aquiring pens at a frightening pace, I am afraid it might be an addiction... I see I am not alone here on FPN! Latest acquisitions - Platinum 3776 Kumpoo with Diamine Eau de Nil, Opus 88 Koloro inked with Diamine November Rain, Franklin-Christoph Model Pocket 66 prototype inked with Franklin-Christoph Honeycomb.

Nice writing.

But do realise these are OLD rhymes. I am over 60 and have not learned these at school (or home)

So the Dutch there is archaic.

But fun to see. Wouldn't mind browsing through a book like that.

This is one nice for pronunciation:

Liesje leerde Lotje lopen langs de Lange Lindenlaan.

Enjoy your lessons.

So here are the latest acquisitions... I didn't picture the Lamy Vista 1.5 because I've already posted enough pictures as it is and I've posted a different Vista before, this one only changes in the nib size ;) (excuse the crappy photos with my phone... It's the one I had handy at work!)

I am very happy about these new pens. The Montegrappa was a gift from my wife and the Sailor I just had to buy it when I came across it. However, I still am looking at a 1911 Naginata Togi B or MF... Not to mention that I'm now salivating over Nakayas and Danitrios thanks to Elderberry's blog (thought it will be while until I can afford one!)... And there's a Pelican to soon join the family as well, courtesy of a recommendation by Amberlea...

Oh my, I've really fallen off the deep end...

PS. Edited to mention that now I have to look for someone that can check and work on my nibs here in France or at least within Europe. I want to see what can be done about the Pilot Custom Heritage 92 and now Montegrappa's tendency to sometimes skip.

Great combination. I agree that either the ink should match the pen, or create a perfect contrast. Well done.

Lovely. I'll have to practice. And yes, the book is a modern reprint of a book published in 1894. I love antique books (even reprints), especially if they are illustrated. Just today I got a Dutch children's book from the 1930s, called "Het Boschhuis". The language is a bit old-fashioned, but it's a wonderful bit of history.

Many thanks. For a "second-tier" pen, it's rather nice —with the right ink, and DC Supershow Blue seems to flow nicely.

Inderdaad. But such fun —the antique pen seems to be attracted to the antique rhymes... ;)

Although the particular shade of green is not my favorite, the clip is SPLENDID. The figure of the titan is wonderful!!

Very handsome —both the pen and the penmanship. I have had mixed experience with Sailor pens, but yours looks marvelous. Enjoy!
