@Akustyk -- Flying somewhere with that bird? Nice!

Gorgeous work! By the way, this italic Vacumatic must be a grail pen for so many of us. Beautiful, a superb writer, and very rare.

Just lovely.

What is the ink?

Thanks! The ink is Diamine Ancient Copper, which I like a lot in a wet pen, such as this Pelikan.

@taciturn-lackey & @akustyk -- thanks. I love the Oversized Calligraphic nib of the Vacumatic.

Freehand the first version in Gothic. Here's the 2nd version in my more natural hand.

I am speechless. Again! You make the best of this Vac.

My two pennies' worth today is a quick multitest of a not too popular J. Herbin ink. Terre de Feu is widely available but we don't see it here as often as, say, Lie de The or Pussiere de Lune.

Let's start with a nice paper - Clairefontaine 90gsm:

http://c2.staticflickr.com/6/5580/31199832745_50ccb653b1_c.jpg

http://c3.staticflickr.com/6/5605/31167287226_48f7e0ecd6_c.jpg

Light, almost pale. More pinky-purple than brown.

OK, here's my trusty Oxford legal pad...

http://c7.staticflickr.com/6/5770/30835878430_a62998abe4_c.jpg

Is it the same ink? Vivid, saturated, reddish brown.

One more try - on Atoma paper (here erroneously called Atomo):

http://c1.staticflickr.com/6/5543/30835890760_f4981589bf_c.jpg

Better than the first test, but far less impressive than the second one.

Surprisingly, on another type of "nice" paper (Quo Vadis Habana Journal), Terre de Feu lives up to its name:

http://c2.staticflickr.com/6/5490/30392726993_2fa44b97a0_c.jpg

http://c8.staticflickr.com/6/5324/31199831495_817988ae1e_c.jpg

Your mileage may vary, and your nib may be wetter (and less tricky) than my Italix Oblique, but one thing is crystal clear: on yellow and ivory paper, this ink really shines.

Nice weekend and happy writing, everyone!

Today I will use my twsbi micarta clipless, because I just found it. I thought I had left it at a class I took a few months ago. I was depressed over thinking that it was gone. But a few hours ago, I found it in the notebook that originally came with it.

Sitting down to write some letters and the Custom Heritage 92 needs a refill, so time for more Iroshizuku Ku-jaku! Almost halfway through the bottle.

Stunning! I'm thinking of buying one of these (it's been in my mind for a couple of years & I keep walking away) but am nervous about staining on the white section. What's your experience? (I want one for Christmas)

Fabulous work!!

And I am intensely curious as to your seemingly endless source of decent italic nibs on vintage pens. Most intriguing indeed.

@Akustyk, I missed another of your auctions. They just seem to run away from me.

@Eli, if you want this Junior you can have it. Oh, and the ink for the fude nib was Oster Deep Sea (I think).

Great ink/pen pairing. Lovely shade of orange.

Thank you. One Junior is quite enough for me.

Today's fun is with a little white Kaweco Sport, with a big 1.9mm italic nib

Thank you. I have not had it long enough to say whether it stains or not, but I wipe and blot in a rather OCD way when I fill any pen so perhaps I won't have that issue? I'm glad I got this pen but the plan didn't work as I'd hoped... I originally fell for the M600 version but thought it too spendy at the time so I got this one thinking it would put that fire out. Ha. Going to have to have the bigger one as well, probably early next year.

@eliweisz, thank you!

Have a new bottle of R&K Alt-Goldgrun that I got just for this pen... I'll try to add another photo in the next week.

Thanks! I find the CH 92 is pretty easy to flush, though I try not to worry about it too much (I usually fail).

Beautiful shot.

Thank you!

Eliweisz, I have small bottle of Terre du Feu. It is quite pale color, but not in wet nibs, especially in nib with flex. But from your picture is more red than brown, problably because of my monitor, or light etc. I know that, Terru du Feu is more like reddish brown as you write. I like it in flex nibs, looks wonderful. In stub also!

I have to find my writings sample from flex.... When I find it, I'll post it! :)

Btw great pen! :)

Inky, I love your calligraphy spirals very much.

This is fantastic! All of it, the pen, ink, and penmanship. And the photograph, with it's angle and depth of field effect, really awesome.

Earlier today, I was writing with a Parker 51. This one, has a broad nib. Though I struggle with broader nibs, I do love its silky smooth, cushioned ride.
