Don't Just Tell Us About The Pen You're Using, *show* Us! - 2016

This morning I received a package from a very nice guy called Rolf Thiel. The package contained a pen. It also contained some gummy bears and mints! A win-win :)

Lamy, the iconic 2000 ...

fpn_1480400419__img_20161129_190320.jpg

I have had this pen less than one day and I am totally smitten with it. Feels just right in the hand. Good weight and a lovely tactile quality to the Makrolon. The piston is super smooth and the ink window is actually quite informative.

Originally I purchased this for black ink work duties. Looking through my meagre ink supply I note that the only black ink I have is an old 1/3 of a bottle of Lamy Black. So, it was about time I tried the Sailor Tokiwa-matsu. Good choice methinks, a very pleasing and gentle colour, and should stand me in good stead while I figure out which black ink I should plump for.

Cheers!

Congrats on your new pen!

Wow....

That complete picture setup is amazing....

and that pen ... Delta Unica .... what a material... really love that....

thanks for sharing the same...

Thanks for your kind words.

Another picture of my Lamy Al-star with Diamine Tyrian purple + Uni notes but with better lighting (yes I am currently in class :P).

Another perfect match! Impressive.

In the meanwhile, my "new" Lamy 99/37 piston filler, with a bold oblique nib:

I love your handwriting and the pics... just amazing....

can i give you one suggestion ... why don't you write the pen name in your handwriting only...

Thanks! That's a great suggestion. I don't do it because I fear my handwriting isn't legible enough to convey important information, such as the pen's exact name, model, etc. So I write short bits, quotes, proverbs, etc.

Absolutely gorgeous! These are probably the most underrated pens of that era. I like them just as much as the Montblancs and Pelikans. I was thinking that a broad oblique would really suit your hand, and I am so glad I was right! You make this pen sing, and you produce the most gorgeous handwriting with it. It's legible, elegant, and has a lot of character.

Congrats on the new pen, and especially that it fits your hand. Your handwriting makes it sing (and you've got me thinking about a bottle of Tokiwa-matsu).

Lovely combination, wish my handwriting had been as clear as yours when I was in uni. Though I would be remiss as a teacher and former uni TA if I didn't say, pay attention to you lecture :P

Today has been a coffee (way too much) kind of day. Mainly using a Pilot Custom 92 fine with Iroshizuku Ku-jaku. Hmmmmmm I might have a thing for pilot pens.

Just writing some bad haiku in my journal  with a Lamy Safari and Dark Lilac. I forgot that these cartridges last a lot longer than a converter.

You have convinced me to order a bottle of this gorgeous ink. Somehow I am not sure I would be able to reproduce the beauty you bring out of this ink. Pens and inks don't just write by themselves :). And I love how you matched the ink with the pen. Brilliant work, as usual!

Yesterday I was writing with a Pelikan M800 with an XF nib. A bit too heavy for me, but a fantastic writing instrument, nonetheless. The quote comes from a Pelikan ad.

You're so kind. Thanks. And this Lamy, bought for a song, is exceptionally well built and perfectly balanced.

Thanks again! You've got a gorgeous red bird here - and a most enviable cursive hand.

Beautiful pen!

Thank you!
