Of course it suits my hand! I have one already, and love it. Are you uncomfortable with your Junior?

And - congrats on your new holder. it's a true work of art.

The Junior just doesn't get much use at all. Don't know why. Perhaps it's the oblique angle?

I have been playing around with a Pilot Custom 74 MS that my wife got me as a gift a couple of weeks ago. Filled it up with Iroshizuku Yamabudo and have been having a ball. My normal writing is too small for it, so it's been a challenge.

That sheen when Yamabudo get's laid down thick is just impressive. Having trouble not just staring at the ink.

Loving my little Sheaffers, but the green striated one is leaking from the blind cap :( and did this to my Nagasawa pen roll...any tips? Bought it on eBay so could return it but would prefer if I could do something and keep it

Sorry to hear that! It looks like you need to overhaul the filling mechanism by removing Sheaffer's original bits and replacing with modern equivalent. Good luck!

This morning I received a package from a very nice guy called Rolf Thiel. The package contained a pen. It also contained some gummy bears and mints! A win-win :)

Here we go (a few pictures, sorry about the poor photo skills though).

Lamy, the iconic 2000 ...

Fitted with an extra fine nib that has written superbly straight out of the box (actually, I asked Rolf to check the nib before sending :))

Here is a comparison with the other pens I have (I don't have many). Top to bottom: Balladeer by Renee Meeks of Scriptorium Pens (review in process), Lamy 2000, Pilot Custom 823, Pilot Custom Heritage 912, Aurora 88P.

The Lamy and Aurora semi hooded nibs...

I have had this pen less than one day and I am totally smitten with it. Feels just right in the hand. Good weight and a lovely tactile quality to the Makrolon. The piston is super smooth and the ink window is actually quite informative.

Originally I purchased this for black ink work duties. Looking through my meagre ink supply I note that the only black ink I have is an old 1/3 of a bottle of Lamy Black. So, it was about time I tried the Sailor Tokiwa-matsu. Good choice methinks, a very pleasing and gentle colour, and should stand me in good stead while I figure out which black ink I should plump for.

Cheers!

Thanks, Vaibhav.

I really don't understand why this pen is so underrated, compared to the 51. Perhaps it's ordinary c/c filling system? Launched at the wrong time? Certainly not because of lesser nib quality or performance.

and maybe price??

Absolutely gorgeous Sheaffer pens! Wow! I hope you post writing samples. Can't wait. These are among my very best writers.

Speaking of great writers, today I am writing with a Sheaffer Snorkel, a very enjoyable pen to write with. And another quote from an old penmanship book.

I love your handwriting and the pics... just amazing....

can i give you one suggestion ... why don't you write the pen name in your handwriting only...

Congrats on the new acquisition! I made a deal with myself that if I don't buy any pen related things this month I can buy a Lamy 2000 (would be my most expensive pen, I really want to move away from buying lots of cheap mediocre pens to buying pens I really like+want). It's hard for a recovering buying addict but your post is definitely a motivator :)!

One man's meat is another man's poison. I like the oblique angle. On the other hand, I never use Junior for regular writing - it's reserved for calligraphy and headlines.

I am using Kaweco Classic Sport in Burgundy Color. I have ground the stock bold nib to medium stub nib and writes the way I want it to.

The lovely ink in use is KWZ IG Turquoise Ink and writes super wet and has an amazing shading properties on Fabriano Ego Paper

Congratulations :)

I totally agree with your sentiments.

I remember buying mine around this time last year and falling in love with it before even putting ink in the thing. The cap! On, off, on, off what a lovely reassuring click . . .
