Thank you and to answer your question one its a personal handtuned jinhao nib and they are perfectly good nibs. Two i got the vac in a fine, didn't like it and it was too late to replace it as i was already back in india. Also, as you are from these parts of the world you would know there aren't any decent no 6 nibs readily available here and a replacement nib for the vac is almost half the pen cost if i try to get it here. I will probably pick up a jowo nib when i go to Germany again. Till then this stays on.

You have such a beautiful 'family'. That Italian Dolcevita is a pen I would love to add to my small collection.

It won't disappoint you, take my word for it.

I really love the color of Parson's Italix

Here's some more:

It's a Pelikan kind of day around here.

And it's a nice kind of day. How do you like your Aquamarine ink? I tried it only yesterday, and the stuff has exceeded all my expectations.

So your Aurora has quite a story... And your perfectionism is admirable, as well as your penmanship.

Now it's my turn to thank you for kind words. Crime doesn't pay, but daily practice surely does.

Regarding Dolcevita: maybe you should look for the slim version. It's still quite substantial, but will suit your hand even better than Federico.

I'm really impressed with the Aquamarine. I have it in two pens today and I think it may be one of my all-the-time inks. One of the pens has a Fine nib and I've found I can even use it in a journal that I like that has really cheap paper (I know, I know). And in the bigger pen it shows wonderful shading. Liking it a lot.

mhphoto brought up the subject earlier today and I just wanted to remind myself how much I adore my Faber Castell Basic - and also how pleased I am that mine is still in one piece after its relatively rough life in pockets and bags etc.

The pen's hefty weight and stunning nib (there really is something about Faber Castell nibs) ensures it goes out to play quite a bit and it is always inked up with something or another waiting for its next outing.

Today it drew the rear view mirror hanging ornament in my brother-in-law's car.

Love the writing samples. But I'm confused. Isn't a B nib like an EF, F, or M nib-spherical tip and therefore no line variation? How did you get the line variation out of that first pen?!

Normally, you'd be right. But the Pilot 78G B nib is actually much flatter than a "regular" broad. It's more like a stub, so it will produce line variation. I'm not sure whether this is the case for all Pilot B nibs...

Conklin Mark Twain Crescent Filler Pilot Filler . . .

I poked a hole through the sac a while ago whilst cleaning out some Noodler's 54th so I unscrewed the barrel and plopped a Pilot cartridge in the section instead - works a treat.

Actually, it's a Medium Italic nib marked as B. No tipping, pretty sharp.

Beautiful, beautiful collection of Pelikans! And awesome ink choices, too.

Earlier this morning, I was writing with a wartime Sheaffer Triumph. I can never get enough of these pens. The writing experience is so uniquely awesome. The quote comes from an old penmanship book.

I tried it in my Kaigelu which has a pretty wet medium-broad nib. Great shading, and the color is very attractive. The most pleasant surprise in months - since I discovered the blue-black Quink.

I was working on my novel today, and while I have no illusions of completing 50k words by hand this month for NaNoWriMo, I did complete a few chapters. Today's inspiration came from the power of yellow as I decided to use and/or ink up a few of my yellow pens and just write.

Thank you! I never really understood my penchant for yellow pens. It's not a favorite color. Perhaps simply something different once in a while. It would be crazy if I included ballpoints and roller ball pens. LOL
