(The border was drawn with Black Cashmere, a lovely black ink but look how red and pale it looks in comparison to Noodler's Raven Black.)

Raven Black is a Levenger ink, not Noodler's, at least as far as I have ever heard. It is still a good ink.

But Levenger does make a Raven Black which is great too.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

I'm using another "home grind" today, and it's a bit special...to me!

Ian, I love hearing about special stories about a pen. Together with your ink towel, it brightened up my day! Thank you.

Really nice! Love the details.

Thanks so much ShortRound!

Oh those 0.2mm Preppy's are really something.

The whole sketch, as requested . . .

A view through the insect mesh from a restaurant in Florida.

I tried one where I began to actually draw the mesh but binned it before I went insane and rubbed over the whole sketch with a pencil instead.

Very clever about that special effect you managed to come up with for the fly screen mesh! As usual, your drawing/painting has wonderfully moody ambience. I love it. Preppy 0.2 is a bit too fine for my regular writing, but it will be really useful for drawing etc.

Yay to you for being able to use good paper again! But you are very patient to have stuck with the other notebook, if you didn't like it so much. ;)

Helen, your inkwell is magnificent!

I love the quote.

I used to use MB Royal Blue religiously when I was 13 till about 19, but the writing in my journal books from that period has all faded pretty badly inside of the closed notebook! I can still read what was written, but the lines are very pale grey colour now. Admittedly, it's been more than 20 years ago and I didn't use decent paper back then, so that could have been a contributing factor.

But, the ink may well have been reformulated by now too, to have better fade resistance. The fresh ink colour is lovely, and MB ink bottles are pretty neat, I love them!

attachicon.gifWP_20160110_0011.jpgHello Everyone. I joined this forum today because just yesterday I bought a rather lovely Mont Blanc pen - one that was on my 'bucket list' - a 149. it arrived yesterday and I opened it with excitment. it writes like a dream and I am delighted. THEN - I noticed it only had 5 pints on the star! I was so sure I have a fake, but its just too lovely to be a fake! can you enlighten me? I have still got the pen - the seller has offered me a full refund, but I really love this Pen and I want to keep it. Im gonna upload a pic now - im new to all this!

Hi SadieQ,

Don't know if you had any replies yet, but I read somewhere that it's not a fake. According to the guy it's a version for the Arabic market who don't want the star of david on their pen.

That's a beautiful pen! Wow. And a great ink choice, too.

Today, I am writing with a Sheaffer Statesman. A really nice writer.

I like very much your handwriting (and of course all those Sheaffers from your posts as well)

Saludos,

Jaime Castro
