Looks great!

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

Just picked this up today from a Craigslist ad. Esterbrook J in green with a 2556 nib. It even came with the original box and instruction sheet.

All I did was flush and fill with Private Reserve Sherwood Green.

It is a nice writer- good flow and writes a surprisingly wide line for a firm fine nib.

Nice pen and ink combo :)

To Noihvo, I think it was this thread, so I'll have to find the pen pictures to go with the post, but for now, here is the response.

It's so great to see your posts again! They are as dangerous as they are educational, and a feast for the eyes, of course.

What a gorgeous pen! That color is so deep and rich. I am familiar with the 2556 nib, and it's one of my best writers, vintage or modern.

Earlier today, I was writing with a Sheaffer Balance Vac-filler with a really nice Lifetime nib. Sheaffer tuned these nibs to perfection. They write at the lightest touch, yet they can take a lot of pressure with ease. I inked it up with Sailor Kobe # 3 Old Foreigner Ward Sepia, a great match for this pen, I think, The phrase I wrote comes from an old penmanship book. I have been really enjoying browsing them for interesting phrases. They are little pearls of wisdom about handwriting, most of them are easier said than done.

I know, I know, I wasn't going to buy any more pens but for £20 brand new, boxed and with a Visconti converter who could resist ?!
Thank you London Pen Show and thank you to the lady who snatched them all up but let me have this one as it was a B nib.

It's one of the most gorgeous pens ever made, with a nib to die for, and in your hand it's incredibly awesome.

Your PFM/Vac700 hybrid left me speechless.

Keep up the good work!

So elegant! Thank you for sharing this.

ShortRound, thank you for your kind words. I really appreciate it.

The second one I did, I did at night time and I realised that my eyesight isn't as good as it used to be when I was in my 20s, I need to work on them in daylight or my eyes will feel quite strained afterwards. The price we pay in exchange for growing wiser and more mature, unfortunately. :(

I know. part of me wanted to and learn how to use a B nib. But after a day or two of scribbling and sketching the B had to go. My writing is far too messy with a B.

I'll have a scribble with the Tacchia pen soon and post a photo. That is a Marmite pen for sure but I love it.

At a different point in time version - it's fun to compare.
