snak: thank you again. I don't wash over with a brush that often. In case of the eye and the pokemon, it's solid ink :D - with a little help of karismacolour pencils.

This started as a sketch from a tea stain, lol.

Yesterday, after doing sunflower after sunflower, the term ink therapy got a new meaning :D. I'll update, when it's done.

eliweisz: Thank you very much for your kind words.

Look what arrived today:

Bexley Flat Top.

Nib is in F, very suitable for sketching, though, the TWSBI ECO gets most of the work to do today.

A few pages earlier, the Bexley pens caught my attention and I got this one for 62 something US$ on ebay directly from Bexley - they're clearing out their older models as it seems.

Very cool work from all of you guys, mouthwatering pens, great photo skills, cool writing, etc. It's hard to keep up.

The sketch with the Bexley is again an old concept sketch and you can see how sloppy it really was initially, where I haven't been with the pen yet. Anyway, I think it's good practice for the planned urban sketching :D.

mehandiratta: I thank you very much. I Started this on August, but haven't finished it yet, due to time constraints and the amount of sunflowers. Every time, I'm confronted about such a long time with a sketch/ drawing, insecureness sets in, however, I'm determined to finish it nonetheless, whether I like the outcome or not. Thank you for your encouraging words.

We all would love to see more of ur work

Rediscovering a Pelikan than I forgot I had. It's a Pelikan M300 from the late 1990s (I bought it in a lovely shop in Salamanca, Spain in 1998). It's the smallest, most elegant little pen I've ever seen —only a little over 4 inches long, and slender as a pencil.

The M300 is on the far left, with an M400 and an M800 for size comparison:

bit blurry but quick shot... Jinhau 750, Nemosene XF nib added. Ink...Arhitekt Cement Grey

So, there I was on my last day in Florida before returning to the UK. I'd gone online and checked for retailers and found one in Sarasota, about 1/2 drive from us in Venice. So at around 4 O'Clock my wife, two children all got into the hire car to appease dad and allow him to buy his birthday present.

Best laid plans and all that . . . this was as close as I was able to get:

Realo Blue Demo? I didn't know about it until I saw your photos on Flickr this morning. Beautiful! Do you like this H-M nib? I've got one in my ProGear II and feel quite happy with it.

The blue barrel material is a nice cobalt blue in this pen, and there are tiny little silver shimmer particles in the resin/plastic that shine when the light hits them just right. I am wondering if there are any blue ink with silver shimmer in any of the Diamine shimmer inks? I have Herbin's blue shimmer ink but that one has gold particles in it.

I am more than happy with my Sailor H-M nib, too. The ink flow is steady and generous and I appreciate my Sailor nibs from EF all the way to Zoom and more. :)

You all have so nice pens ! :)

Have you checked out the sheen with the Majestic Blue? On the right paper and in the right nib, it can look really pretty.

Diamine Florida blue in the 580, and Sargasso sea  in the Delta.

Ian

I really hope that you will eventually get your must have pen. With such personal story and history behind it, it will be so special for you and your family. When you do get the pen, you should write up something to keep with your pen as provenance to hand down to future generations.

Wow! You made my day with the blues! I love both, but the Realo is incredible. I was hoping to see one on the forum, and there it is! Spectacular.

Today, I have another Sheaffer Triumph, just can't get enough of these pens. The quote comes from an old penmanship book. I enjoy looking through them for these old pearls of handwriting wisdom.

I'm very glad you like the blue demonstrators. :)

I can't get enough of your gorgeous posts either!

That is amazing work. The painstaking stroke after stroke of ink lines. I admire your commitment.

The paper appears to take the ink very well. May I ask what sketchbook it is you're using?

The M300 is so cute! I love small pens. I have seen the pen in beautiful orange colour (like the material in Eli's new pen) which was very attractive but I found out that M300 pens don't take the same nib units that M200-M600 pens use so that was a sad discovery for me. Thanks for showing us the nice family portrait.

Oh no! That was unlucky!

It's very special to have something that you pick up physically as a memento of your trip so I feel your pain. :(

I know. :( I was so excited at the thought of having seen a mug on FPN and then flying across the Atlantic to buy one.

Ho hum. I'll settle for the two petrified Shark's teeth I found in the sand. :)

Thank you again. I just did a few closeups for examination.

The pokemon is done in a Moleskine watercolor notebook. Not that great, but not bad either. It plays well with water and ink. I got it for free, so no complaints.

The other notebook is a vintage diary, I got for free also. I cannot find a lable or any other sorce of origin. What I know though, is that my father bought it to document his sea travels in it.

He only made one quite bland entry and then quit, lol.

Then this page was later torn out and the book was handed to me as a diary when I was a kid at the age of 8. I made a few funny entrys myself and then gave up. This year, I decided to use it as a notebook. I think it was fabricated in the 60s. The cover is green nylon leather. The lock for it fell off at one time and went missing.

The paper is thin but can take abuse very well. It seems like coated of some sorts. The color is beige or eggshell, broken white. Sometimes due to age or storing I get unexpected feathering.

Anybody used old paper like this?

Akustyk....Many thanks, high praise indeed. To be honest, I just enjoy messing about with pens and ink.

SNAK..... Top idea, and one that I will bear in mind, as I WILL eventually get one of these pens.

Decided to use another pen today with a home ground nib.

It's my Arbutus Apollo (one of my top 2 pens), ground to a fine cursive italic, and inked with diamine Iris, another from the flowers range.

More "boat" writings today, I'm afraid.
