2 Watermans today, and 2 of my faves as well.

What an amazing script! Hats off to the shipbuilders ;)

Don't my Waterman Patrician ballpoint pen and pencil look lovely together?

Sure they do!

You've been on fire lately! Every time I come back to this thread I see one (or more) of your awesome pens. The Delta looks fantastic. Yes, it might not have the small details of the other DV, but it's just as gorgeous! And you put it to good use. Excellent handwriting, as usual. I admire your style and your versatility.

I remember reading about Sheaffer's 1940s pens, and the company's commitment to quality, particularly with regard to their Triumph nib. A name aptly chosen, a true Triumph of ingenuity and manufacturing prowess.

28580576943_599ea543c3_c.jpg

Thank you! Nice pens make us (well, some of us) think twice about our handwriting. Hope mine will continue to improve.

And the Triumph... Oh, the Triumph. Gorgeous! Cannot but agree with your description of the nib. I'm looking for a Carmine Striated Triumph - but they are somewhat elusive lately.

My Federico sends his best regards ;) Looked at it for more than a year, read all reviews, tried to convince myself that it's not for me - but on the last day of July simply couldn't resist the price, so now the black-and-orange thing is mine. Love to see your sample, looks wonderful! Thank you.

Practice, patience, perseverance

amberleadavis: No, I don't even own ballpoints. Not that I know of anyway, lol.

I mostly use my fountainpens. At home mostly, TWSBIs and my Sonnets. I really love the ECO in EF for sketching and the 1997 Laque Midnight Blue, I got almost unused for a lower price than the new ECO.

I plan to do a bit of outside sketching on the first weekend of September, then I probably take my AL-Stars with me, as I'm very anxious of dropping my pens.

I finished that little sketch today that started as a concept sketch of a toxic sewer, I rendered for an animation. It was very sloppy. I did it in 2006 and decided to finish it 10 years later.

29199755375_20970e278b_z_d.jpg

It is still very sloppy, there is even brilliant green in it.

It reminds me a bit of Ultima Underworld, lol.

I dropped the green Preppy today and it luckily didn't crack ;) I ordered a bottle of the green, as I like it a bit better than the Pelikan green for sketching.

Thank you very much for the very nice comment.

My Conway Stewart set circa 1951. A 388 pen with matching 33 pencil in Marbled Green, set in a 'Doily' patterned box, and with original Guarantee Certificate and Instruction leaflet.

As a friend described Traditional Angling ... "Beside the water I discovered (or maybe rediscovered) the quiet. The sort of quiet that allows one to be woven into the tapestry of nature instead of merely standing next to it." Estaban.

SNAK, thank you, after one year, I'm still at the very beginning. Why are so many fountainpen lovers Japanese senpais, lol.

The pink is just that, Pelikan Pink cartridges, I got from my oldest daughter as a gift.

I use them for drawing mostly. After that I have still to use them for writing, because it seems that pink lasts for ever. Anyway, only two of six left. Yokatta! :D

Knowledge of Japanese language is quite handy when you are trying to purchase some Japanese stationery, like certain inks that are harder to get a hold of... ;)

Your artwork is beautiful. How do you do the flat wash areas? Do you use brush for those areas like the eye and the stripes on the Summer of Pokemon? I can't even imagine how many hours it would take to work on something like that!

SNAK, as always, these are gorgeous! I love the OBBB.

Thanks jmccarty. You know my love for fat oblique nib. :)

You hit it out of the park with these OBB pens? I think Pelikan and Montblanc used to make amazing OBB nibs. They understood that people's handwriting changed, and XF nibs were no longer in demand. Your handwriting, once again, brings out the best in these nibs. Your ink choice are incredible, as ever, particularly the Kobe #19.

Today, I have a Sheaffer Sovereign II, not as gorgeous as the Valiant of the same era, but still, a handsome pen, and a great writer. These nibs write equally well upside down, making a XXF line that's smooth and wet.

29023809052_d6808724cd_c.jpg

Wow akustyk, you are the King of fine fine nibs. Oh hang on, Attika is King too, but I think you deserve that title too!!

Your pen, ink, nib, photography, and above all the writing, everything is memorable.

Yes, I keep an eye out for oblique nibs, fatter the better as far as I am concerned. The 400NN actually came with that OBBB and it was almost brand new with the "Click" mechanism on the cap thread still working. I had to have Mr. P. Brown work on the modern OBB nib on M400 White Tort to de-blob it for me though. I wish modern Pelikan pens come with more nib options like they used to. :(

Italix Parson's Essential (what else?), Kaweco Sepia/Caramel Brown

P.S. I also use Aramis Classic. A contemporary of Parker 75 and Sheaffer Imperial ;)

Your handwriting with that nib certainly doesn't look like you are struggling with it!

I have a few pens that I really enjoy the look of but is too top heavy or too big or whatever and don't get as much use as they ought to do. They are still loved but more so for their looks unfortunately for them.

Hey I sometimes wear his Aramis too, as it is vintage Cabochard's step-brother sharing the same perfumer, Bernard Chant back in the 50's. I like and often wear masculine fragrances like Fahrenheit and Kouros, both versions we have are from before reformulation.

fpn_1471808754__img_3139.jpg

I should get Gris Nuage. Every time I see you use it I am reminded to order a bottle.

I don't handwrite in Japanese much either these days, so often it's tricky to remember the correct Kanji to use. It's the case of you use it or lose it, I am finding out.

Inked up for the work week. Cheers!

They are all businesslike, ready for the week ahead! Do you use red ink at all for work?

I see you are enjoying your MB Permanent Blue. I see it featured often in your posts. :)

My husband likes it for work too, he has it in his Capless Fine nib, but thinks that inks just mysteriously regenerate in cartridges as he never sees me refilling his carts.

Perfect combination fo GORGEOUS pen (look at that barrel material!) and ink!

wow wow wow

I love your posts and handwriting... just superb...

Thanks Vaibhav!

wow those birds are just superb... lovely...

I am on lookout for M600 in White Tortoise...

Good luck tracking down a M600 White Tort, I have heard they are harder to come by as there were less of them made. But when you do, I am sure the effort will be well worth it.

The pen in rotation is Waterman Kultur ( fine nib) and it is inked with Diamine Majestic Blue. The pen is absolute wet writer and the ink has a beautiful stunning golden sheen. I love this ink.

The thought inspiration for today comes from Ambrose Bierce, an Amercian writer and critic. And theme for the thought is anger.

img_20160823_085452.jpg?w=1000

The pen is a absolute lovely wet writer but has problem with hard starts. ( whether its ink or pen I have to determine that) And I wonder why it is not listed on Waterman webpage and I got this pen via my friend whose girl was travelling to France. It is easily available in France in many stationary stores.

The Blue of the pen and the ink is so intense. I like it a lot. Is the pen using a long cartridge or is it an eye-dropper? Love the look of the ink colour showing through the barrel.

2 Watermans today, and 2 of my faves as well.

Red marble Laureat with diamine Aster ink

And

My Piano laque Maestro with diamine Cornflower, both wet medium nibs.

It was my Grandfather Eli, who worked at Browns, although my father did dirty his hands in the same yard much, much later.

Ian

Ian, really nice script writing. And great work on the shipyard history research. I have seen a lot of episodes of Who Do You Think You Are with those big ships featured in the stories.

Thanks Amberlee, hands down my favourite is the OBBB in my 400NN. It feels effortless and natural in my hand, that nib. I should look into Robert Oster inks. You say they are easy to get? I must say I haven't heard about it until now. Will go do some reading in the Inky area of the Forum shortly.

Well, long story short, I let that one go. But every time I see yours and InkyFingers' (and I think I saw one recently owned by someone else as well) I think I want one again. That nib!

Love this sketch. Very deep, intense and really toxic.

A glimpse of the Old World. Nice Marbled Green pattern.

Gorgeous. I need a nib like this ASAP ;)

Maybe it doesn't look so, but believe me, it was not easy to write this note. However, it seems like there is a special assignment for the Parson's Essential - without changing or regrinding the nib.

Perfect combination fo GORGEOUS pen (look at that barrel material!) and ink!

Thank you! Want to try it with Burnt Sienna and some darker ink (maybe Cult Pens Deep Dark Brown and/or Diamine Macassar) too.

Realo Blue Demo? I didn't know about it until I saw your photos on Flickr this morning. Beautiful! Do you like this H-M nib? I've got one in my ProGear II and feel quite happy with it.

Wow! You made my day with the blues! I love both, but the Realo is incredible. I was hoping to see one on the forum, and there it is! Spectacular.

Ian, your handwriting versatility is second to none. I am so impressed with your pens, and how nicely you pair them with interesting inks. Excellent work all around!

Today, I have another Sheaffer Triumph, just can't get enough of these pens. The quote comes from an old penmanship book. I enjoy looking through them for these old pearls of handwriting wisdom.
