Using my Parson's Essential OM as Hebrew/Architect nib:

http://c2.staticflickr.com/9/8585/28957231385_6a4e3cbc9b_c.jpg

That pen is gorgeous! It reminds me of the wooden door panel and dashboard on classic cars! Also, as soon as I saw it I thought "Oooohhh, Aramis!" because it looks just like the box of Aramis and the atomiser that my husband uses for touch up at work. Your scripts and handwriting they're becoming even more beautiful than before!!

This is a beautiful vintage pen! And, of course, you know how to make the most of it with your fantastic handwriting.

Thanks so much akustyk, high praise indeed coming from you.

Today it's the Visconti Van Gogh Pollard Willows with Waterman absolute brown

You have very neat Kanji handwriting. Great work. What was the pink ink on the right side of the notebook?

Skysora, it's lovely to see that you have the same "character" in your writing in English and Japanese. I think it's the lovely line quality. Have I told you I really like your handwriting?

Sheaffer a la TWSBI - "The Italic Writer"

Just finished assembling a Sheaffer nib unit (Broad Italic) to a TWSBI 580 (with custom treading for the Sheaffer unit). Haven't tested it out yet...

Devilish me!

Wow. You that is an amazing Franken project. Respect. :notworthy1:

The pen in rotation today is my new Pilot Custom 823 which comes with Broad Nib and it is currently inked with Iroshizuku Ku-Jaku. The pen is a real beauty and yes the clear transparent one is so perfect.

Would love to know how is your experience with this pen and what is your favourite colour in Pilot Custom 823??

My experience has been great. I love all Big 3 Japanese pen companies' pens and I know Pilot nibs are set up for people who write with the pen held closer to 90 degrees from the paper, rather than lower angle writers like me (45/50 degrees), so I have to tweak the nibs on Pilot pens as soon as I get them, but I still enjoy the look of them. Custom 823 is really special, I think, not even comparable to TWSBI Vac700 in fit and finish, and that's coming from someone who likes the Vac700 well enough to have a handful of them. What is my favourite 823 colour? See below. ;)

I am impatiently waiting for a new little birdie to hurry up and fly over here, and these Pelikans are waiting for the new member to join the family. Not too long to go now. :)

SNAK, thank you, after one year, I'm still at the very beginning. Why are so many fountainpen lovers Japanese senpais, lol.

The pink is just that, Pelikan Pink cartridges, I got from my oldest daughter as a gift.

I use them for drawing mostly. After that I have still to use them for writing, because it seems that pink lasts for ever. Anyway, only two of six left. Yokatta! :D

I also have the transparent Custom 823, with a medium nib. It gets a lot of use at work with Pilot Blue-Black ink. I'd love to see Pilot bring this out in some urushi finishes, but as it is, it's a reliable, practical pen.

You hit it out of the park with these OBB pens? I think Pelikan and Montblanc used to make amazing OBB nibs. They understood that people's handwriting changed, and XF nibs were no longer in demand. Your handwriting, once again, brings out the best in these nibs. Your ink choice are incredible, as ever, particularly the Kobe #19.

Today, I have a Sheaffer Sovereign II, not as gorgeous as the Valiant of the same era, but still, a handsome pen, and a great writer. These nibs write equally well upside down, making a XXF line that's smooth and wet.

Another striated Sheaffer! You know, I have a soft spot for them ;)

Inked up for the work week. Cheers!

Recently, I was very excited to discover that Parker had produced some pens in 1977 to commemorate the ship Rms Queen Elizabeth.

I was equally dismayed when I found out the price they go for...oooft! Therefore, it may be quite some time......... :(

Anyway, the process of researching the pens sent me into nostalgia mode, and as I don't really have a real reason to write, other than for the sheer pleasure of it, I have found myself writing about boats, which is a welcome change from the usual song lyrics, and Burns poetry.

So

Here we go

I was kinda trying to keep the Britain/China bit going with the pens and ink too, just for a bit of fun.

Long time no see... Great job, Ian! This Medium Italic nib really rocks.

I love to read about the great liners of the past, especially the Normandie and RMS Majestic (ex-Bismarck) that carried my grandfather to and from the States in 1935/36. Their stories are no less sad than that of the Queen Elizabeth, but I'm always happy to learn something new about them and their contemporaries.

Thank you for sharing!
