I was about to say, the blue and orange colors would make good inks. I also note that the large crab on the left in the photo with the dog doesn't show the colors. Is this similar to the avian world, where the males have the bright colors and the females don't?

I think the one in the photo with the coconut has just shed, and that is a new shell.

Well I do like the blue and orange.

 

Well, there's your inkspiration for your next inky day.

 

They also go nicely grilled on an open fire, or in a seafood salad...

 

In my wife's village, they are usually brought back by children only a tad larger than the crab. Or, if needs be, two children each smaller than the crab.
