This one still amazes me...

Same ink on both sides, same piece of paper, same pen. Not just similar, this was Amberlea's pen... So two different people with everything else the same and yet it looks so different.

I was wondering the same thing.

Zwack posting actually, but... here is the page from Irish's new sample book with Solferino (paper is Tomoe River, White) First under a normal flourescent light.

First fpn_1470970578__salferinonormal.jpg

Now With the flourescent light off but a UV flashlight pointed squarely at the big circle of ink....

fpn_1470970604__solferinouv.jpg

The ink glows a really bright pinkish purple, and the sheen is just bright pink...

The only thing you can't see on these pages is the little black note in the bottom right corner that says "UV"

The Noodler's blue ghost page has a black outline of a circle in the middle and the "UV" note but otherwise looks blank.

"In the end, only kindness matters."

Dear amberleadavis,

It is so great you are using so many ink shades, I already know by now that you quite like inks and drawing with them. I adore your idea to name your ink cabinet with your huge ink collection a POTION cabinet.. Visiting your site, it is as if one is visiting an art gallery site. (see relevant link http://http://sheism..._Ink/index.html )

Like yourself, I seem to like stub nibs a lot, I find them most preferable for everyday use. Their advantage is they add flair in the handwriting without all the high-maintenance of a flex nib. Plus with the stub nibs you can show off better the different shades and saturation of an ink, compared with the EF, F and M nibs. Funny how I started my fountain hobby wanting to narrow the width of my fountain pens to EEF or EF to find myself liking stub nibs nowadays. Except from my Kaigelu 316, my other EDC pen is a black Jinhao 159 with a hand ground stub nib ( I usually like narrower stub nibs than the mainstream 1.1 or 1.5 mm stubs, my stub is self-ground closer to a 0.6-0.7mm width).

Thanks for posting in my thread, I posted there too, but since this is so more colorful thread, I was hoping to better get your attention. My modified Kaigelu 316 thread so much lacks color; my only consolation it that my Kaigelu is full of amber and brown swirls, you never get bored by it.

Best Regards,

Photios
