The darker version is how Hyacinth looks in my Pelikan M1000 with a stubbed BB nib. Beautiful color, and it makes me think of The Bucket Woman every time I write with it.

Huh. Your batch of BUPA is a lot darker than mine. It almost looks like Diamine Eclipse, it's so dark. My batch is medium-dark grey blue (a little greyer than my bottle of Henry Hudson Blue), and while the pen I did my initial test review with for my ink journal is a dry writer, I was still getting a fair amount of shading Parker 45 with an OM nib). Even in the Dollar 717i it's not this dark, although I wasn't getting a lot of shading with that pen.

I think my pens are just that much wetter. Ya'll know how I love those wet writers. I'm trying to use my ink in my lifetime.
