What Pen Are You Waiting For In The Mail - 2016 Edition

I'm waiting for a Sheaffer Legacy Heritage (black barrel and palladium plated cap) with broad nib. It should be here on Monday.

I was debating between this one and the Pilot Custom 845 black, and in the end I couldn't resist and went for the Sheaffer.

Oh, almost forgot, there is a red M400 on its way too, but that's for the wife.

Found a black Parker Vacumatic with double jewels and a two-tone nib for a near-steal. Waiting for it to arrive so I can fix 'er up, no doubt.

I received two brush pens this week: Noodler's Konrad and a Platinum Carbon.

As far as merging threads, maybe shoot a PM off to one of the forum moderators.

I'm waiting for a MB 146 Platinum with B nib. I'm not a big fan of black cigar shaped pens, but decided to give it a try.

Should be here next week.

I've been considering adding a SM to the collection. Please let us know how you get on with it when it arrives.

I got my Custom 74 medium last Monday. A really nice pen!

Think I will buy a CH91 SFM as soon as my finances allow. SFM since I think a SM will be slightly too broad for me, the medium is on the hair...

I'm still waiting for "5PCS high quality fountain pen nib medium New Free shipping" from a guy in "China." I bought these on E-Bay back on November 15. I received notice that it was shipped on November 16, and, "Estimated delivery Thu, Dec 03 - Thu, Jan 07." It hasn't arrived yet.

I figure I'll check the mail box again tomorrow, January 10, and see if it's there. If it's not I suppose I need to start something on E-Bay about it before too much time passes.

This was something I'd bought when I was falling off the wagon a bit back in the Autumn. I figure those five nibs qualify for something I'm still waiting for in 2016.

I've been back on the above wagon for more than a month now. Here's hoping that my order didn't fall off some other wagon  .

I'm not waiting for those nibs anymore! I got a refund  . Yeah, after waiting well past the end of the delivery date window I contacted E-Bay and the process starts with some sort of official message to the seller. I guess that the seller didn't put up much of a fight because I got the refund right away. Given that his feedback ratings have plummeted since I bought this item, I suppose that E-Bay is pretty used to folks not getting their items delivered from him.

I am on the wagon again now, all right, and indeed, my nibs appear to have fallen off a different wagon.

On a sacred quest for the perfect blue ink mixture!

After selling off a bunch of pens, I decided to treat myself to a couple nice modern pens, which are all still on the way:

Platinum 3776 Century Black with a soft fine nib

Sailor Procolor 500 Sakura with fine nib

Karas Kustoms K in Olive with a copper grip, EF nib.

Picked up a black 51 with a sterling silver cap, a Pilot 912 with a music nib and a blue Lamy Safari with black clip (still trying to collect them, where oh where is that sumgai terracotta with my name on it?).

It's the Bristol pen show in the UK tomorrow. Am hoping there will be some great pens to be had there..

Definitely will do! I may even do a review of it and in the meantime, a review of the pens I have so far.

But I'll definitely tell you how it writes! It's my first gold nib. Hard pick between the SFM and SM.

I sold off some pens so I could purchase this Grail pen: a Nakaya Dragonfly. I expect it next week sometime.

I can't stop buying pens and it scares me.

A LONG time off, but I got added to the 10-month-long queue for one of Tim Cullen's custom wooden pens yesterday. I'm going to have him make mine of verawood! (Tropical hardwood, nice oily/waxy feel to it, smells like violets/roses, and turns dark green over time!)

Update on my Montblanc Heritage 1914 OBB: La Couronne du Comte shipped it yesterday, along with a Montblanc Collection Box.

I'm also waiting for a vermilion Namiki No. 50 (Emperor size) from nibs.com.

Call me irresponsible.

I call you "happy with expectation of what is on it's way & soon to be even HAPPIER not once but twice after they both arrive!"

I have recently treated myself to two new pens

1. For my Birthday

2. To break the doldrums of the longest month of the year, January may ONLY indicate 31 days duration BUT living thru many of them in a state that experiences winter weather I believe it SEEMS like 40-50 days of MISERY, no matter what the calendar indicates! (Shoveling 8 inches of snowfall yesterday afternoon to find 6 more had appeared last evening & another four this morning provides MY proof.)

3. 'Cause I didn't have them & WANTED them

(Any one or more of the above reasons)

Tracking their journeys from Germany & Italy provided pleasant relief from weather forecasts & their subsequent arrivals made the almost 20 inches of snowfall irrelevant. Picking the desired inks & enjoying the performance of two pens I had not experienced has provided a very happy couple of days.

February is a shorter month so I will deal with it by anticipation of the 14 KT gold Kaweco nib in BB that will arrive from Fontoplumo. They were thoughtful enough to send an electronic message offering a Birthday discount so the price which had seemed more than I wanted to spend suddenly seemed acceptable. (I think I have 5 Kaweco Sports so purchasing a nib that can share use for each of them seems less extravagant.)

I am calling the above decisions "medical & emotional treatment for seasonal affective disorder;" & sticking to my story!

You have a doctor's permission to use that excuse. Good for any season.
