As If It Just Came Out Of The Factory

Just got this beautiful English P51 Signet/Insignia pen on the eve of new year. It looks as if it just came out of the factory. No ding, dent or dirt neither on the cap nor on the barrel. It has a nice amber jewel. It came alongwith nine pens from Karachi. Seven of them were Parkers including three other 51s, a 75, a green slimfold and a very nice P65.

 

 

 

 

 

Was reading today's morning paper out in the lawn on this sunny day when it occurred to me I should share my joy with all of you out there.

 

How is it? Before good soak and flush, I have just filled it with plain water and it turned in the pen to nice blue black ink. The nib is a super smooth broad one. I was hoping to get this pen for a very long time. So it was kinda dream come true.

Yes, mariom.It couldn't be better. Welcoming the new year with a writing instrument that you love. I am now in the process of soaking and flushing the pens. This particular pen seems to have not been used much. Clear water started coming out of it after flushing it a few times. The three other 51s too are English ones and all have medium to broad nibs with generous tipping material.

I once got a stickered, never before inked NOS P51. Nothing like that beauty but a nice one for sure (Black but gf cap with the converging lines pattern I like so much, it was personalized too but I guess that person got it as a gift and never used it). That is a great day. Flush it. Ink it. Enjoy!

Yes, farmdogfan, I had already read about your set in the thread above and I remember I even participated in discussion about your demi set.

 

Could you provide the link about your demi set in which farm boy says he knew the signet came in demi size too but the board would say 'no' or something like that?

Yes, that is it. Thank you, farmdogfan. I am glad my memory didn't fail me. Mine was inked but probably just once or twice. A very clean example indeed. My first 51 flighter is on its way too.
