Montblanc 149 Broad Nib !

ASL

Recommended Posts

Hello dears,

I come back to comment on "Goldnibs" and the operation they did to my MB 149 re-tipping it to Broad I/O originally fitted Extra Fine Nib.. I must admit, I was very frustrated and worried to deliver the pen to Goldnibs but the exaggeration of MB charging $ 325 to swap the nib made me take the risk and try Goldnibs !

In a very short statement, I can confirm they are very professional and they do the work exactly as requested. I am very happy with the results & my beautiful 149 is back safe and sound without a single scratch and now it writes wet and broad .. I strongly recommend Goldnibs Spain. The only drawback they have no contact numbers to call them as I was travelling between Europe and wanted to arrange the delivery, they only respond to emails, however, I managed & gave them a friend's address in Spain and they shipped it there.

Thanks to all of you and thanks to Goldnib Spian.. Mission Accomplished

Nice. Could you share a writing sample please?

Sure..There you go, 2 photos, one for the nib after being re-tipped and a writing sample as well. Sorry if not clear, as I am using my Mobile Camera.

ASL, thank you for posting your pictures.

Looks like Goldnibs did a "fine" job changing the EF tipping to a broad B. I am glad that this nib adventure worked out for you.

Happy writing! :D

I like the ink, too. Which one are you using?

Actually it took me sometime to decide on the color I wanted to use with my MB 149, I tried many colors but I felt in love with the Pelikan Turquoise 4001 .. MB doesn't offer nice ink colors at a competitive price besides their regular ones ( Royal Blue, Midnight, etc ) are standards and a bit boring to me.. Pelikan got a very cheerful & wide selection of ink colors at cheap prices, average Euro 4.- for 30ml bottle .. I almost purchased all colors while in Germany last week !!!! But again their Turquoise is my favorite

For your quick & easy reference, I am posting here two photo for some of there ink color varieties plus the particular one you liked .. hope this helps :)

PS: You should also their Brilliant Red.. its amazing too.

Unfortunately hard to get here.

Hi Meiers.. True they are great.. If you wish, once I am in Europe again, I can buy it & have it shipped to you from there ! not a big deal .. Just let me know..
