In the UK. WHSmith have them, medium nib only, for under £100. Incredible. Nearly bought one myself but struck lucky on eBay.

Best of luck.

That's amazing! I wish they have the Stainnless Steel version too...

The cheapest place to get a 2000 from a reputable dealer? Hmmm. As with most things, the short answer would be, "It depends."

Factors to consider:

1. From where/who did the pen originate? Example: It could be a random dealer but sold by Amazon.

2. What is the seller's return policy?

3. Where are you located vs. seller? Example: how would shipping cost be affected?

These are the first things that come to mind. I'm sure there are more factors to consider. I can tell you that the "cheapest" might not be the "cheapest" if there is a problem with the pen and you have to spend more money in repairs. Depending on your expectations, a seller that costs a little more - but has good customer support - might be cheaper in the long run than a retailer with a lower initial sticker price.

Best of luck.

Cheers.

My ink-swap post(s) become out of date eventually. My signature is always current. If you want to swap some ink, here's what I have: Diamine: Ancient Copper, Oxblood, Poppy Red, Red Dragon, Sherwood Green; Iroshizuku: Kon-peki, Ku-jaku, Take-sumi; Noodlers: 54th Mass, BSB, Purple Martin, X-Feather, Widow Maker; Private Reserve: Blue Suede. I'm partial to highly saturated inks, but am open to suggestions. PM if interested.

Be thankful for what is offered . . . :)

Tas, I followed your awesome advice and got a 2000 from WHSmith... Hope that it will be good. Thanks again for telling me about the deal!

Yay!

Looking forward to your thoughts on it. The honeymoon is still in full swing with me, almost a month later . . .

The only thing I'm afraid of is the nib. It might just be too thick... I'm thinking of emailing Lamy to see whether I could swap to an EF when I get it. Tas, where did you get your 2000? Are you also in the UK? What nib size did you get?

In Singapore they sell it for around SGD 304, so this deal is actually asdgdvdbn$#_#!!

They were out of stock when I got the "itch" and ended up buying one on eBay (coincidently, I think, from a fellow FPN member)

I wanted a new one but was really pleased with an early used version.

Lamy will replace brand new nibs. Have no fear.

By the way, how did you know it was a medium?

Electronic Cove or that female nation shopping site is the best bet. I got mine off the cove for less than 70 quid inclusive shipping.
