Bexley Pen, Your Favorite?

My favorite is the Bexley Poseidon Magnum II ..a full size PISTON FILL, made in USA...with GREAT nibs.

I would put this pen up against several MUCH more expensive Piston Fills..plus the nib/feed assemblies are screw in, so they can be changed out in around 5 seconds.

I ALWAYS enjoy writing with it.

I have three each with the same standard nib in broad & while each is beautiful I enjoy the Poseidon the most because of the size of the pen. The piston filler is nice but not of great concern to me. Finding these pens cured me of being tempted by recent offerings from another company. I had purchased two of their pens because of the choice of material but found the pen lacking except in appearance. The Bexleys combine unusual attractive pens with excellent performance.

I must second Bill, who got me hooked onto the pen. I've used Sheaffer 100 and Balance, Cross Century and Century II, Conklin's new Mark Twain, and a Parker 45. By far the best American pen.

Smooth nib, piston-filler, and ink doesn't leak into the cap even when the pen travels in my coat pocket.

I got a Bexley Perlson Enterprises Exclusive in blue velvet and a Stalwart in black. I really liked both of the pens. They are beautifully made! I wasn't able to find any flaw aesthetically. They seem to be made by people that love fountain pens. And they certainly moved me! Of the two, the shape of the Perlson Exclusive is probably the most comfortable pen to me I've ever handled. The design seems to be similar to the Corona and the Phoenix (minus the piston, mine is a C/C). The Perlson is slightly longer (which I wish the Stalwart was) and the section is a little thinner with an hourglass shape which I loved. I guess the Perlson is my favorite. I should learn more about it, since I was discussing in another thread how well Bexleys can prevent ink evaporation drying out the nib. Sometimes the technical limitations make a great pen less desirable for certain uses.

I am really glad I bought them. I was influenced by Richard Binder that always recommend this brand, and when I was able to get them for a very good price I couldn't miss the opportunity. I will keep my eye on the brand, maybe looking for a longer pen (almost bought a 58). And I certainly discovered that I love patterned acrylic. The black is nice, but I don't think I need any more black pens... I really recommend people to try them out. Judd's Pens and Pipes (website and eBay user judperl) have some of them and he usually is offering discounts. If you manage to get them for under $100 they are great buys before jumping on Edison, Franklin-Christoph and the other hand made beauties.

For a birthday gift, my wife got me the Bexley Poseidon Magnum II, Blue Lagoon.

Hands down my favorite pen right now. I'm not generally a fan of fin nibs, but this one is fantastic. My first piston filler, but it was so easy to ink up and get working. It kicked the Karas Kustoms INK out of first place for me as a favorite.

My favorite Bexey is this one:

2004 Holiday Pen made for Jim Gaston.

Based on the Prometheus with an #8

Stub Nib which supposedly was ground

by a Japanese Nib Master. The flow is

wet and the nib as smooth as can be.

A total joy to write with!

Damnation, I've been holding off the Poseidon Magnums but hearing so much praise for them (and seeing that superb photo of the Poseidon family all together!) may have to reconsider.

I have a good few Bexleys but my favourite right now is the Parker 51. Yes, you did read that right - a lovely remake of the 51 in rippled ebonite. I think it would be a bit small in the hand for the OP though. I also like the Corona (blueberry cream version) that I have, a really nice pen with satisfying size and not too much weight in the hand, though I wish I had the piston version.

Too many pens, too little time!

I really like my Corona Summer Storm, but I rue the day I did not pick up a Ranger.

Anyone know where I can find one?

I'm a bit late to this thread, but not to Bexley. My favorite is the Americana: bought a Sanibel Blue in 2006 and a Rio Grande Red in 2009. The 18K nib provides a superb writing experience.

Cheers,
