Best All Around Ink Set?

Hey guys! I was curious as to what you guys thought was the best ink set for dipped pens. I feel like I'm ready to move beyond the realm of speedball black india ink. What do you guys think?

Need to know what you mean by "set". Calligraphy in general? Diamine Anniversary, Flowers, Composers? All R&K standards? R&K Documentaries?... All 5 Herbin scents?

By set I meant a variation of different colored inks included in one package. (No nibs or holders) Sorry about that. What were you referring to when you said, "All 5 Herbin Scents?"

I like Winsor and Newton. They make some gorgeous calligraphy ink colours, like Indian Red, Yellow Ochre, Matt Black, and White. Roberson's traditional ink range is also well worth seeking out.

Will definitely research those, thanks!

All of those inks come as a package, especially the 5 Herbins here. You can also buy them (as well as the Diamines) separately.

Hmm, would those inks work well with a dip pen?

Yes, they work with a dip pen just as well as with a FP but Herbin inks in general are somewhat watery. Exception: all 4 Herbin 1670 inks. Most other FP ink brands ar less watery, especially Noodler's and PR. Almost all calligraphy inks and definitely inks like India ink are a lot thicker, more saturated.
