Really? I find that my L2K posts incredibly securely - far better than most. I'm not one who usually posts my pens, but I find the L2K superbly balanced whether posted or not.

agreed, on all counts

something must be wrong with that other person's inner cap-posting apparatus

Well my 2Ks are in excess of 10 years old. The posting is accomplished through spring bars - is it possible that mine have just lost tension over time?

I don't know from experience, but why not? Other springs lose their tension over time.

Do you write with the cap posted or not?

I prefer the cap to be posted - but my complaint with the L2K is that the cap does not post securely.

I've never had a problem with my cap posting, it's secure, yet doesn't feel like it's stuck on there forever. Even my vintage Lamy 2000 from the 1960s has no problems posting. Maybe something on your pen is damaged?

Mine does not post well. Never has but that has not been an issue at all. It has seen so much use over the years that the finish is all worn smooth now. It must be 8 or 9 years old and it has never failed. Greta writer and as several have already men tine it is a "workhorse". Also works for well for the left handed like myself.

Thanks for the review. I'm deciding more and more to make this my first over 100 dollar purchase.

Thank you for this unique review. Few reviewers make the effort to look at a pen after three years of use, and it's great to see a true user review. When you point out how the finish changes over time because of the constant contact with your skin, the reader gets the view that this is a true workhorse review. So thanks.

I just never enjoyed the metal section on the 2k, and I found the pen to be too heavy for my tastes. This was my first expensive pen after extensive research here on FPN. I now encourage people to hold a pen like this before making the plunge.

The great news is my daughter really likes this pen!

This is a fantastic format for a review - taking a look at a pen after the initial fanboying has subsided. Plus it makes me feel a lot more confident - i'm planning on picking up a 2000 of my own here shortly.

Nice review. I have a question: Did you write a lot with that pen? Has the nib tipping worn in at all?

It's good to know the pen body seems to hold up but I'm curious about how a nib holds up to 3 years of regular use.

You're not writing on sandpaper, right? ;)

Thanks for the well done review. I'm interested in hearing more about what specifically you had done with the nib. I'm at the same point you were when you started with the Lamy. It's also my first pen that I spent more than 20 dollars on, and I'm finding that the idiosyncratic sweet spot is not so endearing. I thought that I'd learn to use it, but I'm already getting more enjoyment out of a metropolitan F nib & I'd really like to use this more
