I collect vintage ballpoint pens. If you look outside the USA, the best (IMHO) ballpoint pen is the BIC M10 of 1956. The pen was so practical that it became the preferred writing instrument of many military pilots (I speak from personal experience). The pen could be operated with gloves on and it was advertised as the pen with the shock absorber, because the configuration and the soft plastic refill tube gave it some flex when pressing against the paper. The best news is that the M10 is still being manufactured by BIC (but not in North America). I believe it is still made in France and in South Africa. You can buy it from Amazon.UK and they are still very inexpensive!!!

Nice pens, as a child in the 70s I remember my dad always had these for writing and doing crosswords. Great nostalgia.

I have a blue one. Here in England the shop Poundland were selling them in packs of two.

Papermate profile with powerpoint refills got me through college. Newell Rubbermaid killed it off as it was

similar to the Parker Jotter. For awhile the Parker refills has a point shape that seemed take from Papermate..but then they went right back to triangular point shape.
