Kobe (神戸市 Kōbe-shi) is the sixth-largest city in Japan and is the capital city of Hyōgo Prefecture. It is located on the southern side of the main island of Honshū, on the north shore of Osaka Bayand about 30 km (19 mi) west of Osaka. With a population around 1.5 million, the city is part of the Kyoto-Osaka-Kobe metropolitan area along with Osaka and Kyoto. Its name comes from "kanbe" (神戸), an archaic title for supporters of the city's Ikuta Shrine. Kobe became one of Japan's 17 designated cities in 1956.

Kobe is famous for its shirines and nioce architecture but among fountain pen and ink afficionados the name Kobe cause increased heart-rate. The city is a home of Nagasawa-Kobe stationery shop that offers incredible lione of more than fifty inks made by Sailor.

My master - plan is to prepare comparison of full line of Nagasawa-Kobe inks. Not an easy task as they're not the most obtainable inks on the market, but hopefully I'll manage to do it :)

At the moment Nagasawa-Kobe offers 52 inks:

Kitanozoka Night Blue is very nice blue / black ink. I could find use for it. Thank you Cyber6 for a sample :)

I like how it looks on the cream paper, but not on the white.

Lovely shading though . . .

Thank you

Thanks yet again. I like this one a lot.

Hmm. I'm the opposite to Tas -- on the cream paper it brings out too much of the green undertones.

I think this one is not for me, but thanks for the review.

Great review! Thanks for taking the time to do this. I must say that I am ambivalent about the color.

I love the review, I'm not excited about the color, but then, it doesn't sear the retinas.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

The sample I tried was much darker and had fairly little shading.

Now I've tried it with a broader nib and I get the exact same color and shading as Visvamitra.

To me it's the opposite... I like it on the white paper, but not on the cream...

It's good there is something for everyone! :)

It's a very nice colour, but nothing unique to make me want it.

Thank you. Very helpful

#38 is a dark blue, tending towards blue-black. It's actually fairly close to Bungbox 4B, but with much less sheen.

#51 is a very dark blue, almost black, with a nice green sheen.

Recently I've used the rest of the sample in Pilot Capless medium nib and I was surprised by certain misbehaviour of this inks. It caused some really hard starts and dried in pen after few hours of it not being used. No one is perfect. Even Sailor as an ink maker.

I had the same issue with this ink - in my pens, it always felt very chalky and it would quickly dry on the nib.

Strange... It feels really wet in my Custom 74, no hard starts at all.
