Missing Packaging

Hi Guys

New to the site.

I am an avid collector of Mont Blanc limited edition pens for many years and have just discovered this forum.

Wondered if anyone can help or advise me.

I have a Schiller fountain pen which has the original case (mock book) but no outer box and white cardboard sleeve. Is there anywhere or anyone who knows where I could get hold of these items.

Here's hoping

Thanks

Marc

Hi Marc,

Welcome here!

Ebay will probably be your best option, lots of persistence, luck and time will be the key.

Good luck!

Boxes and packaging for Montblancs are frequently available on eBay, usually offered at ridiculously high prices. You might have to wait a while for the exact items you're looking for, though.

Honestly, I think it would be easier to buy a Schiller that comes with all of its packaging and sell the old one. It would probably come out to be cheaper as well.

No easy way. Plus the numbers will not match your pen. It was common for people to toss them out at the store when buying the pen, especially the white cardboard sleeve. I have done it myself.

It's not a deal breaker unless someone is collecting a set in unused condition with all boxes, shrink wrap, and the like.

As you're in the UK, it's unlikely that you will ever find an outer box for your book box. Even if you did, as zaddick says, the information on it's label won't match your pen. The serial number will be different and the nib may be different. It might not even be for the same type of pen, as it could be for a BP.

It's just not worth worrying about. If it's your pen and you write with it then it doesn't matter that you don't have the outer box. If you want to sell it then it still doesn't matter that you don't have the outer box. It will fetch slightly less than an unopened unused pen with all of it's boxes, but if it's a used pen it will fetch less anyway.
