Sailor Kobe # 30 Ooji Cherry

Kobe (神戸市 Kōbe-shi) is the sixth-largest city in Japan and is the capital city of Hyōgo Prefecture. It is located on the southern side of the main island of Honshū, on the north shore of Osaka Bayand about 30 km (19 mi) west of Osaka. With a population around 1.5 million, the city is part of the Kyoto-Osaka-Kobe metropolitan area along with Osaka and Kyoto. Its name comes from "kanbe" (神戸), an archaic title for supporters of the city's Ikuta Shrine. Kobe became one of Japan's 17 designated cities in 1956.

Kobe is famous for its shirines and nioce architecture but among fountain pen and ink afficionados the name Kobe cause increased heart-rate. The city is a home of Nagasawa-Kobe stationery shop that offers incredible lione of more than fifty inks made by Sailor.

Ooji Cherry is joyous pink ink. Usually pink inks make me scowl defiantly at the paper or people wearing them, but it's not the case with Ooji Cherry. If I ever have a daughter, I'll buy her a pony in this color (poor child, what would it do to her psyche?). In other words - I don't hate it, but I'll never buy a bottle of this ink.

I was waiting for this review.

Well, I'm not sure how I feel about this one, but I imagine it'll grow on me. Though I enjoy more muted colors, I do have a soft spot for pinks.

I have a similar feeling regarding pinks. However, I agree this is about as nice of a pink as I've ever come across. If I HAD to write in pink, I'd buy of bottle of this stuff. Thankfully I don't.

As a former happy child who loved playing with Barbie Dolls (but no foot binding!) , I love this color. I had obtained a sample of it sometime back and thought "now what am I going to do with this color?". But, happily I have found that I enjoy journaling with it. It is a very happy color, but can become cloying if not used with some discretion

Excellent review, although I'm not a pink (or for that matter, purple) person.

Vis...when you first set out to review the Nagasawa Kobe line I thought you'd never be able to do it. I'm amazed that you're almost finished with this project! I really appreciate this ink series and you've made it possible for me to make informed choices...and I thank you.

Hm... looks more like a sakura pink. I wouldn't use it for writing. For drawing flowers, though... nice.

I now want to try this ink. I admit, I have gold Larry Mahen cowboy boots - that after having kids makes me think my feet have been bound, so now I'm ready. I can regress from my beloved teenage overly bright colors and go to baby pony colors.
