Are There Any Lavender Inks Out There?

I love anything purple, and naturally this extends to fountain pens and inks! However, from my limited exposure (mostly Goulet Pen's selection), I can't seem to find a true lavender ink. Even Private Reserve's Purple Haze, the lightest purple Goulet carries, ends up being a standard medium purple in my EF Pilot Penmanship.

I know Diamine and J. Herbin make "lavender" inks, but it seems from from my limited experience that they're actually closer to a regular purple rather than the pastel-like shade you'd expect a lavender to be. Short of diluting my purple inks, are there any truly lavender inks any of you can recommend?

I actually think Diamine lavender is a pretty good representation of lavender. It is quite muted and pastel-like, even in my fat nibbed pens.

I think the problem is that lavender comes in all different shades and hues, from blue through to lilac-pink, through to deep purple. For example, English lavender is a very different colour than French lavender.

Do you have a swatch of something (eg a marker pen, a fabric, a crayon etc) that you could post a photo of so we know what you're looking for? There's bound to be a match; there are many different inks in that part of the colour spectrum available.

Sheaffer used to have a lavender that you can still find pretty often. There's also a special edition Kobe ink called Monet Violet that might work, if you can find it.

Montblanc do an ink called Lavender Purple

I'm betting that ink is darker and more red-violet than the OP wants (it is a really nice color though).

I'd have a look at De Atramentis Pearl Violet (also found relabelled as Jeanne d'Arc). Or, if you can still find it Organics Studio Potassium.

In my experience, Lavender is a really blue leaning purple or a purple leaning blue.

Here are some suggestions:

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

This also has the most amazing bottle:

And when you do a wash with it and doodle with a blue, the color is great.

I would think that PR Tanzanite would be a bit too blue, but Tanzanite is really bright and fun.

This is one of my favorite inks and it's water proof, but good luck trying to get it.

You might also consider North African Violet. It is really bright, but it can be diluted down to a lavender color that is equally pretty.

Finally, I could have to add the De Atramentis makes a Lavender ink that smells wonderful.
