My new ASA Nauka black shiny ebonite fountain pen with a 1.1 Dual Tone #6 nib unit and ball clip arrived yesterday. I filled it with Syo - Ro ink and have been quite pleased with the fit, finish, and performance.

My Nauka arrived yesterday. I've enclosed a couple of scans of it. It's a pretty pen, nice swirling effect on the colors. Mine is a 3way, ED, converter or cartidge. It will be my first ED pen, and I'm going to go slow on that. From the look of the threads on the system, it appears that there is already silicone grease applied. Is it ready for use as an eyedropper, without any further actions, except of course, adding some ink?

 

Also, is mine a Jo Wo or a Schmidt nib? There is no branding on the nib, other than Iridium Point Germany. It writes a lovely smooth line, loaded with Levenger Amethyst ink.

Hari, I got the clip from a French guy whose grandfather-in-law ran a luxury pen shop circa 40s.

I bought the clipless version to use out of a leather pen sleeve. It's working out very nicely. The pen also looks great in either a black or oxblood sleeve. I've very impressed with the JoWo nib as well. Exceptionally smooth writing pen, especially at this price point.

 

I'm going to be watching ASA for future special editions, as well as some of their other attractively priced regular stock items.

Yes - that is the good stuff. Not as nuanced as the one made famous by Turquoise Patrician but am not complaining.

 

PS: Glanced at your blog, love the Pink nib on Silver ray Waterman.

I have been getting lots of requests for Nauka pen, unfortunately could not undertake. I was unable to produce these as we faced lot of issues due to floods here in Chennai-India.

 

As things are normal and we are starting production of next lot of Nauka pens.
