The Weekly Sketch ~ Themed Drawing Prompts For Members

Pira

Recommended Posts

Since Pira went off board, I suggested:

May 1-7, Item 26

A way to tell time.

Huh? Did I miss something? What happened to Pira? I'll admit that I'm *way* behind on doing these, but I liked seeing peoples' work.

I may try to get back into doing this, now that I've finished with NaPoWriMo (which, weirdly, I was better at keeping up with even when I didn't have good ideas based on the prompts -- much better than I had been with Inktober, until the last week.) I actually did 31 poems in total, because I wasn't happy with how one of the last week's prompt turned out, so I did another one that was much better, IMO. Some of the poems really were pretty awful, but there are a few that I'm *really* happy with.

But I really need to get back to drawing....

I wish I had the ability to write. I tried a blog and it lasted about ten posts. Maybe I'll try to get that going again.

There was an issue (page 21). Three of us stopped posting images to the thread, including Pira. Each of us will do as we feel we must; I've come back.

#26 - A Way to Tell Time.

26188345724_acb44bd28f_b.jpg

Another quickie.

Platinum Carbon Brush Pen ($5) with supplied Platinum black cartridge.

This pen feels a lot like a felt-tip marker, but there is some flex in the point. Not as much as the Noodler's Konrad brush pen, but slightly more brush than felt tip.

Snowbear, that was exactly what I was thinking, a sun dial and not just a watch or clock. I don't know about a growling stomach....

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

Hey, no one commented on my lamp. I was pretty proud of that.

Tas, it's because I draw like a 2nd grader. You, my friend, are an artist.

So jealous of your speed people.

I'm still on "Festive food of choice"

Don't feel bad -- I'm MONTHS behind... (I'm back at "3 slices of citrus") and haven't uploaded any of the ones I HAVE done. And I'm not sure where I stuck my little Ecosystems sketchbook....

I love that color! Splendid clock!

I did whip up a piece this weekend for the traveling art journal, but it doesn't fit into any of the current themes (Giant Pacific Octopus). :S However, I'll give #26 "A way to tell time" a go today.

. . . who'd like to draw like a 2nd grader (whatever that might be in the UK) :(

I'd say an octopus could be used to tell time. One was used to predict the World Cup (or was it the Olympics) a few years ago.

Oh, I think this is definitely one of your best one, so far - nice job.

Art is hard, and and art classes generate more work than any other, except possibly, the higher levels of mathematics.

Thank you Tas :)

Nice job, Northstar. I always have a hard time with hands.

Thank you snowbear.

My idea was showing a child holding an old man's hand, to show time passing, not sure how did it work.
