Sourcing Cap For Early Moore Safety

Recommended Posts

Greetings,

I've acquired a lovely early gold-filled #2 Moore Safety, but the small cap is missing. I imagine this might be a long endeavor, but as we all know when you quite like a pen...

So I'm searching for a cap or a parts/donor pen. Photos are of my pen, and of two similar ones found online with their proper cap. The proper cap would be smooth hard rubber.

Curious who the Moore collectors out there?

Cheers,

Morgan

Take a drive to Fred Krinke’s shop in Monrovia. He doesn’t have a parts drawer. He has a parts room.

And then, there’s the LA Pen Show in February.

Finding a replacement is quite do able, unless you’re heart is set in a taper.

Handsome pen. Well worth the time and effort.

Thanks much DanDeM, that sounds like a true pilgrimmage! And yes, Watch_Art I had considered this possibility, I'll reach out to you if I run into troubles. Cheers, Morgan
