Well poo ! The USPS hasn't delivered my pen yet. I was hoping for it to arrive before the new year began, but no such luck : ( Friday is a postal holiday, so maybe Saturday < fingers crossed >. Then I could play with it the rest of the weekend : )

My lovely orange Model 5 arrived a couple days ago. Really enjoying it, especially having fun with the 1.5 mm stub nib. It's my first stub, but I suspect it will not be my last.

USPS Track & Confirm doesn't recognise any RT . . . IN numbers : (

Oddly, they are still able to collect signatures for such upon delivery - very strange indeed.

 

I just feel bad because Mr. P and Mr. K did such an exemplary job of producing and despatching the pen in spite of the flooding Historically, I have had very good luck with USPS (unlike my UPS and FedEx experiences), so I cannot complain too much.

Today I had my camera with me at the postal station in case I got lucky. This office has bright blue counters that make a nice backdrop. The other patrons thought I was a bit nutty unboxing and photographing right there. Oh well

 

 

 

Of course everything is "pre-ink" . . . my tale is a work in progress

Okay, I inked it up to see how it would look and write.

 

In the previous pre-ink pics, I noticed something kinda cool. On the left side reflected in the end of the pen is the postal station window and the buildings and sunshine outdoors. It creates a "snow globe" effect. Since I will never be able to replicate the image, I'm glad I had the camera.

 

 

The blue counter at the station was nice, but I really like green:

This beast is huge, so fitting it into the frame was difficult for a rookie like me. The ruler and spiral notebook give a sense of dimension, although I was using them as anti-roll devices. My handwriting sample was less than great because I got in a hurry. Bad idea

 

Neither the Ranga 3 or 5 are tiny. For some, they are too large. In my case, they are great. Back in 2003, I suffered a stroke that affected my right side. Being right handed meant relearning how to write, among other skills. The heft of the pens permits me to grip them more easily and have more control. At the same time, the ebonite and acrylic keeps them from being too heavy.

 

I'm a happy camper I hope you all are as well.
