The best I can suggest is trying to to degrade the paper using some liquid washing-up detergent and a little warm water. First break up the paper with with a wood toothpick. Next try a detergent with some enzymes, such as the top-of-line Dawn we have in the States. Then try some ammonia solution. Allow time to pulp the paper. Paper can be slow to break down. This is primarily cellulose. Be careful of any chemicals and how they might affect your pen.

An ultrasonic cleaner might help. If you don't own one, a helpful jeweler might help you out.

Good luck and take your time.

Use a piece of overhead projection film, 35mm camera film or a similarly small piece of plastic that is both slightly firm and thin. Floss the nib from back to front from the underside being careful when you reach the tines.

Goulet Pens sells thin brass strips for flossing the slot of the nib. I think this might work for you. I've tried this on my pen and it doesn't appear to force the tines apart permanently. This should get rid of your piece of paper.

Thin brass shims can be found as a set on Amazon, too. The thinnest will not force the tines apart, but should just clean it out. Thinker shims can change the size of the space. Check on here for dimensions. I believe using the shims after soaking in dilute detergent will allow you to remove the paper.

Let us know how it turns out.

Just finished a complete service for this platinum short pen, you need some tool to loosen feed retainer (red ring) in order to remove feed and nib unit.post-110592-0-18672400-1456822787_thumb.jpg

Did anyone find a step by step on this disassembly? I've got one of these pens from ebay and it's in good shape except there seems to be a lot of dryed chunky ink stuck between the feed and the nib. I've tried soaking it but the chunky ink just doesn't seem to stop coming out. I think the only way I'm going to get it truly clean is by removing the nib and feed and cleaning the feed with the soft brush.

Any help on removing the nib and feed would be greatly appreciated.

In my case, handmade tool made from sac protector from Sheaffer touch down filing to match the slots of feed retainer. Sometime friction fit from cartridge may do the trick.

Could you make a short video to show how to disassemble and reassemble it?

I just bought an old Platinum short and the part where the cartridge attaches (called the feed?) is positioned too close to the opening. This means the cartridge sticks out too far and I can't attach the end of the pen. What to do?

Is there anyone in the US who would be willing to take this apart and see what's the matter? I didn't pay much for the pen and these aren't worth that much to begin with, so not sure it's worth the effort to repair.

Nevertheless, as you can see this is one of the more handsome pens as it has the diamond decoration, so if I can get it working that would be great!

Did you ever get a response to your query? I recently purchased a Platinum pocket pen. After examining the pen I believe that the top of an old cartridge is still lodged in the pen. I am currently looking for some type of pick to attempt to extract the top. Nice looking zogan inlay.

It's a Japanese channel ...

Basically, it's a video of making tools, so it seems understandable.

I have the impression that similar tools can be created by modifying the tweezers.

I have experience, but I have misunderstood that the platinum fountain pen I purchased has a clogged old cartridge lid. It looked like that.

I realized there was a problem with the ink cartridge I was trying to try before breaking the pen.

I don't know if that is the case in your case.
